Position Overview
Working within the Monitoring, Evaluation, & Quality Improvement team, the Consultant, Health Equity Data & Evaluation plays a key role in designing, managing, and delivering data-driven projects that help public health agencies measure, understand, and advance health equity. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E), program evaluation, survey design and analysis, and performance measurement, with particular strength in health equity measurement, and is eager to help public health agencies build the systems they need to track and advance equity in their work. This position reports to the Managing Consultant, MEQI.
Working closely with BME's leadership and partners, Consultants contribute specialized expertise in areas such as health equity data collection and analysis, performance measurement framework design, data visualization, survey design and administration, and quality improvement support, helping agencies translate equity priorities into measurable action.
This role is an excellent fit for someone who is organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and energized by helping public health agencies advance health equity through data-informed decision-making. The ideal candidate enjoys translating complex data into clear, actionable insights, communicating findings to a range of audiences, and building strong, collaborative partnerships with agency staff and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
BME Org-Wide Responsibilities for Consultants:
- Consultant roles at BME consist of approximately 85% project work, 5% administrative work, and 10% business development.
- Leads or co-leads larger projects, technical and advisory, and contributes to project design.
- Independently driving work with minimal day-to-day/project oversight.
- May supervise Associates and Senior Associates.
- Manages projects to exemplary client satisfaction.
- Contributes to and/or leads proposals.
Role-Specific Responsibilities:
- Health Equity Measurement & Evaluation
- Support the design, administration, and analysis of internal assessments and surveys that help agencies measure progress on health equity, cultural and linguistic responsiveness, and related program standards.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of assessment and survey results, producing clear findings at the program, department, and system level.
- Design and refine evaluation approaches and frameworks that help agencies track health equity outcomes over time.
- Support data-to-action work, helping partners translate findings into concrete quality improvement steps.
- Communicate findings through presentations, summary tables, and data visualizations for leadership and program staff audiences.
- Performance Measurement & Implementation Support
- Support the design and administration of workforce and program surveys tied to strategic equity initiatives.
