About the role

The Project Manager leads delivery of one medium project inside a larger multi-workstream initiative, from Mexico, working with proficient workstream owners who already run their own tracks. This role is not a hands-on task manager for every work package. The primary accountability is to coordinate workstream owners and delivery teams, track dependencies, and keep the project schedule accurate, current and actionable, so it rolls up cleanly into the Senior Project Manager's integrated master schedule. The role is also the day-to-day link between teams in Mexico and the US-based leadership team. Success is measured by schedule integrity, clean cross-team coordination, timely exception handling and stakeholder confidence, not by personally executing workstream deliverables

How This Role Works

Workstream owners plan, execute and report on their tracks (for example: technology, modular construction, installation, logistics, operations, finance, vendors, change or quality). The Project Manager connects those tracks into one project plan, keeps the project schedule current, surfaces conflicts early, and drives decisions when workstreams cannot resolve issues alone.

The Project Manager works closely with the Senior Project Manager, who owns the integrated master schedule across projects. This role supplies the project-level plan, variance and dependency picture that the master schedule depends on, and escalates cross-project issues upward rather than solving them in isolation.
Key Responsibilities

Schedule ownership
- Own the project schedule, including milestones, dependencies, critical path and float, in the team’s scheduling tool (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet or equivalent).
- Maintain schedule hygiene: baseline control, change impact analysis, slip tracking and recovery options.
- Run a consistent cadence of schedule reviews with workstream owners and publish a single source of truth.
- Provide accurate, timely schedule updates to the Senior Project Manager for roll-up into the integrated master schedule.

Team and workstream coordination
- Coordinate workstream owners in Mexico and the US; clarify scope boundaries, handoffs and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate standups, workstream syncs and planning sessions focused on dependencies and decisions, scheduled to work across time zones.
- Confirm each workstream has a named owner, capacity and a current plan that rolls up to the project schedule.
- Escalate only true exceptions (decisions, resource conflicts, cross-stream risks), not routine status.
- Keep communication tight so teams are not waiting on the PM for work they already own.

Integration, risk and governance
- Identify and manage cross-workstream dependencies, constraints and interface risks, including cross-border items such as customs, permitting, vendor lead times and shipping.
- Maintain project-level RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, decisions); push workstream-level RAID to owners.
- Prepare concise status and steering inputs: schedule health, critical path, decisions needed and recommended options.
- Protect scope and change control so schedule commitments remain credible.

Stakeholder and reporting
- Serve as the coordination point for project sponsors, local vendors and delivery leads.
- Produce clear status that emphasizes schedule variance, dependency risk and next decisions, not activity lists.
- Align workstream messaging in English and Spanish so leadership hears one integrated story.

What This Role Does Not Own
- Day-to-day execution inside a workstream (owned by the workstream owner).
- Deep subject-matter design or technical solutioning, except where it affects schedule or integration.
- Line management of workstream staff unless separately assigned.
- The integrated master schedule across projects, portfolio prioritization and PMO policy (owned by the Senior Project Manager and leadership; this role is an input and feedback partner).

- 5+ years of project or program delivery experience, including coordination of multi-workstream or multi-vendor projects.

- Hands-on ownership of project schedules in Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Primavera, Jira or an equivalent tool.
- Demonstrated success working through workstream owners, team leads or functional leads rather than managing every task directly.
- Strong facilitation skills: dependency mapping, conflict resolution and decision-forcing conversations.
- Ability to run a lean operating cadence (plan, sync, exception, report) without adding bureaucracy.
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish, with the ability to brief both delivery teams and executives.
- Legal authorization to work in Mexico.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; PMP, PRINCE2 or comparable certification preferred.

Preferred
- Experience in construction, modular construction, architecture or civil engineering.
- Experience coordinating cross-border projects between Mexico and the US, including vendors, logistics and import/export.
- Familiarity with Mexican construction permitting and regulatory processes.
- Exposure to program-level work (multiple related projects or a transformation with several workstreams).
- Familiarity with both predictive and agile/hybrid planning.
- Experience partnering with a PMO, project coordinator or scheduler.
