This role sits within ABB 's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we’ve announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. This Position reports to:
Application Engineering Manager - Industries Robotics Computer Application Engineer
Partnering with our sales teams in the West (Northern California, Pacific Northwest and South California) you will work on supporting our advanced interfaces for machine centric robotic applications, and work on proof-of-concepts, cycle time evaluations, reach studies, and configure robotic solutions for PC centric robotic applications.
This role will be remote and have up to 35% of travel in the region listed. Ideal candidate would be based in Northern California/Seattle or Oregon market near a major metro airport.
Core Responsibilities

Work with sales to review customer requirements, propose and design robotic solutions.

Showcase proof of concept and other demonstrations and presentations to customers.

Ensure all solutions comply with customer specs and any code requirements.

Collaborate with customers, internal teams and potentially third party to address any issues, handle any changes in proposal or other documentation and alignment on requirements.
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s in engineering or computer science with 5+ years in developing client/server applications

Must be competent on Linux, Python, Java script, REST.

Must be competent on AI modeling (data sets, labeling, training)

Comfortable presenting and interacting with all levels of customers as well as peer teams (sales, project management, etc.)

Mechatronic engineering knowledge is desirable

Automation engineering knowledge is desirable.
