Commercial Lines Producer
Position Summary:
The primary function of this role is to drive new business growth and maintain a profitable book of commercial insurance accounts. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and delivering customized insurance and risk management solutions. The ideal candidate is a consultative sales professional with a passion for helping businesses protect their assets and achieve their goals through strategic insurance planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales
- Prospect and cultivate new commercial insurance opportunities through networking, referrals, cold outreach, community involvement, and industry events.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans in partnership with Sales Leadership to achieve individual and agency growth objectives.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to understand client exposures and recommend tailored insurance solutions.
- Prepare and present professional insurance proposals that clearly communicate coverage options, value, and competitive advantages.
- Maintain an active and organized sales pipeline within the CRM, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate forecasting.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on targeted prospecting campaigns and lead generation initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional insurance products and coordinate referrals across business lines.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for commercial clients throughout the sales process and beyond.
- Develop long-term relationships by delivering exceptional service, proactive communication, and ongoing risk management guidance.
- Conduct regular policy reviews to ensure coverage remains aligned with clients' evolving business needs while identifying opportunities for additional products and services.
- Partner closely with Account Managers to ensure a seamless client experience, promote retention, and support account growth.
Market and Industry Knowledge
- Stay informed on commercial insurance products, carrier appetites, underwriting guidelines, market trends, and regulatory developments.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with insurance carriers and underwriters to negotiate competitive coverage and pricing.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, industry conferences, networking events, and continuing education programs.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation of sales activities, client interactions, and account information within the agency management system (Applied Epic) and CRM.
- Ensure all new business submissions, renewals, endorsements, and policy documentation comply with agency standards, carrier requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with internal service teams to ensure a smooth transition from new business to ongoing account management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 1 year
