Circuit Designer Specialist

Zayo is seeking a Circuit Designer Specialist to review, design, or audit end-to-end circuits during the lifecycle of services to customers. The designer will manage records and system updates to ensure network optimization requirements are met. This role is part of Project Ascend, a key strategic initiative focused on driving network transformation and operational excellence across Zayo.
Responsibilities

Analyze service orders to determine appropriate circuit design.

Design and prepare detailed circuit layout records for end to end circuit delivery and interfaces with other internal departments to ensure coordination of all elements required for provisioning of service.

Work with 3rd party vendors to order cross connects, CFAs and risers

Maintain facility inventory systems to ensure accurate and complete facility assignments.

Follow guidelines and process to coordinate with ISP engineering to provide more capacity for CFA/Risers/Laterals.

Provides support to field operations and Vendors to resolve complex circuit provisioning problems; reviews and verifies complex technical data in an effort to resolve service or order issues

Escalate with Vendors when expectations are required to expedite requests

Provide a variety of assistance and expertise to internal departments.

Add billing items for successful processing thru SF to complete out the Service Order.

Provide technical support and interpretation as requested.

Correct and update orders as necessary. Track assigned orders to ensure they are being coordinated in a timely manner.

First level of escalation for ISP requests, expedites, and complex design issues.

Assist with training and onboarding of new team members
Qualifications
-
2+ years in a telecommunications circuit design role that encompassed all aspects of circuit design from order acceptance to published CLR for all types of circuits .

Hands-on knowledge of telecommunications equipment configuration.

Proficient/expert in Metasolv/M6 application

Experience with Salesforce and Metasolv database applications.

In depth knowledge of telecommunications standards and protocols.

Competency in navigating various database applications and MS software applications such as Excel, Visio and Word.

Ability to manage a high-volume workload efficiently and effectively, while maintaining a precise attention to detail in an interrupted work environment.

Self-initiated to gain the knowledge necessary to perform job duties at a high level in a technically changing environment.

Solution oriented analytical problem solving skills.

Willingness to drive towards a goal and do what it takes to get a job done, which may include off hours and weekend work.
Estimated base salary range: $61,100 - $94,000 USD/annually.
The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
