Alloy Partners is a venture builder with a radical thesis: that we can build and scale advantaged companies in partnership with corporations and entrepreneurs. Alloy Partners and the University of Notre Dame partnered to establish a first-of-its-kind venture studio and venture fund — the 1842 Studio and 1842 Fund — aligned with Notre Dame's mission of serving as a "Force for Good" in the world. In close partnership with the University and its vast network of alumni, corporate, community, and academic leaders, the 1842 Studio co-creates startups that address critical societal challenges, including improving health outcomes for vulnerable patient populations.
Nurses spend much of every shift documenting care they have already delivered, manually and from memory, hours after the fact. That time competes directly with patient care, and the record it produces captures only a fraction of what actually happened in the room. Making that care visible gives nurses back their time at the bedside and shows care teams, for the first time, an accurate picture of the care being delivered. That picture lets nursing leaders staff, train, and support their people on evidence rather than estimation.
Co-developed with a leading academic medical center, StealthCo is an ambient AI platform that transforms nursing and medical care. By deploying AI models that continuously monitor patients and care teams through existing hospital camera and sensor infrastructure, StealthCo delivers real-time protocol and actionable clinical decision support directly to nurses and physicians at the bedside.
We are seeking a hands-on computer vision architect and builder to join as CTO and Co-Founder and personally build the StealthCo platform from the ground up alongside the founding CEO. This is a builder role, not a research role. First-year output is a working pilot and a viable product — not papers, not a hiring plan, not a research agenda.
What You'll Own
- Computer vision. Build detection and activity recognition that works on commercially available cameras in real clinical environments, whether a hospital already has them installed or is deploying them for the first time.
- Data as the asset. Start from off-the-shelf models to move fast, then build a proprietary dataset that gets better over time. You own that pipeline end to end.
- Annotation. Stand up the labeling operation and the quality bar behind it. Domain experts say what matters clinically. You decide what is reliably detectable.
- Deployment. Help us architect the right distribution of technology, from cloud to on-premise. You have been through enterprise IT security review before.
- Architecture. Own the technical design and set the boundaries between components so specialists can be brought in later without breaking it.
- Lean resource management. You will build using an intelligent mix of your own hands-on work, AI agents, and targeted contractors — minimizing full-time headcount until revenue and milestones warrant it.
- Future technical hiring. As StealthCo grows, you will help recruit and evaluate future engineering headcount growth.
- Customer and investor presence. You will be in the room with the design partner's clinical and IT teams, at Seed investor pitches, and at future health system customer meetings. You need to hold substantive technical conversations across the table from a hospital IT leader or clinical informatics team and be taken seriously by them.

- Hands-on computer vision experience — you have personally written model code, not only managed people who did. You can speak fluently about what models exist today for activity recognition, multi-person tracking, and pose estimation in constrained, real-world video environments, and you have built something that actually worked.
