About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Bilingual Dental Billing & Patient Support Virtual Assistant to support a busy dental practice with insurance claims, billing follow-ups, patient communication, scheduling, referrals, and front-office operations.
This position requires Spanish fluency, excellent English communication and proven U.S. dental experience . The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable in insurance claims and comfortable handling denials, appeals and eligibility verification.
This is a patient-facing role, so we are looking for someone professional, compassionate, dependable, and confident in communicating with patients in both English and Spanish.
Core Responsibilities
1. Insurance Claims, Appeals & Denial Management — Top Priority
- Insurance claims processing, including appeals and denial management
- Insurance eligibility and benefits verification, including experience with Medicare and Medicaid
- Provide additional billing and insurance follow-up support as needed.
2. Patient Calls, Scheduling & Insurance Verification — Top Priority
- Answer inbound and outbound patient calls professionally.
- Appointment scheduling and coordination
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Perform virtual receptionist duties and ensure patient inquiries receive appropriate attention.
- Process and coordinate patient referrals.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide general dental front-office administrative support.
- Assist with billing and insurance follow-ups.
- Support daily workflows through Open Dental and Practice by Numbers

Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Bilingual English and Spanish proficiency is required and non-negotiable.
- Proven U.S. dental industry experience is required.
- Experience with U.S. healthcare/dental insurance.
- Hands-on experience with insurance claims processing.
- Experience managing claim denials and appeals.
- Experience working outstanding claims.
- Strong insurance eligibility and benefits verification experience.
- Hands-on Open Dental experience is preferred or similar tools
- Strong knowledge of dental and insurance terminology in both languages.
- Confident and professional phone communication.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
Basic Requirements
- Must speak and write English clearly and professionally.
- Must have relevant work experience.
- Must be able to provide an NBI Clearance and/or Local Police Clearance before onboarding (mandatory).
- Must be available to attend video meetings with camera on when required.
