Position: PDF Annotation & Transcription Experts – Bengali
Type: Contract
Compensation: $10–$11/hour
Location: Remote
Role Responsibilities

- Evaluate and confirm the legibility and content of provided Bengali PDF pages. Ensure no personal details are present.

- Annotate structure by identifying and bounding every meaningful region. Assign component types and reading-order indexes.

- Record relationships by linking regions to their parent components such as figures or tables.

- Transcribe text faithfully in Bengali script , including handwritten content. Flag any illegible regions.

- Capture page metadata including language, document type, source, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting.

- Review a colleague's work as an experienced annotator, ensuring quality and accuracy.

Qualifications

Must-Have

- Native Bengali speaker with full command of the script.

- Experience with document-related work such as annotation, transcription, or translation.

- High attention to detail with character-level accuracy.

- Systematic approach to applying taxonomies across multiple pages.

- Comfort with unfamiliar layouts like multi-column newspapers and handwritten forms.

Preferred

- Experience in regional-language AI data annotation and labeling.

- Skills in transcription and localization, including MTPE and OCR correction .

- Background in document production such as typesetting and proofreading.

- Knowledge of script and encoding, including Unicode normalization .
