Audience Insights Coordinator
Job Summary
The Audience Insights Coordinator works within the Digital Services Bureau, a group of digital and data professionals that supports departments across Connecticut Public . The coordinator helps turn audience and media data into useful information that supports programming, distribution, marketing, and digital decision-making.
The Audience Insights Coordinator supports research and analysis of media consumption and audience behavior, identifies trends, and helps communicate actionable insights. This work helps Connecticut Public better understand and serve existing audiences, reach new audiences, and advance organizational goals.
Essential Functions
- Assists in identifying patterns, trends, and actionable insights in the data and helps communicate findings and recommendations.
- Collects and analyzes data on internal and external marketing campaigns, such as on-air promotions, social media, email, podcast, and advertisements promoting Connecticut Public โs programs, services, events, donations.
- Ensures our data is available, complete, consistent, and in the formats needed for our digital team to develop insights and strategies that drive product and content development and distribution.
- Supports the development and maintenance of analytics tracking for website features and functionality, and helps identify insights that can improve the user experience.
- Works closely with the Director, Data Strategy and Audience Insights to determine what data and research is needed and how it should be collected and analyzed, in order tomonitor audience trends and answer specific content and audience inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Additional duties may, at times, be assigned and required.
- Assists in establishing consistent processes and standards for data collection and cleansing.
- Collects, cleans, and analyzes data from multiple sources.
- Cleans and transforms data in Microsoft Excel and other tools to support efficient analysis of large data sets.
- Communicates with the Digital Services Bureau about project scope, timelines, progress, and key findings
- Coordinates with PBS and NPR partners, vendors, and data providers such as Nielsen, Triton, and mobile app developers regarding data availability and accuracy.
- Identifies critical data issues and facilitates resolution.
- Maintains methodology documentation and source mapping and assists in developing data workflows.
- Provides quarterly, monthly, and ad hoc tracking, dashboards, and reporting for multiple audiences.
- Translates data into Looker Studiodashboards to showcase trends and insights through data visualization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Basic data administration and management functions, including collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Databases, CRM systems, or customer data platforms
- Microsoft Excel, including working with large data sets, formulas, pivot tables, and data cleaning.
- Looker Studio and Google Analytics, or similar analytics and reporting tools.
Skill in:
- Analyzing digital or media-related data; experience with broadcast media data is helpful but not required.
- Attention to detail, scheduling and strong organizational skills.
- Building positive working relationships across departments and contributing as a team member.
- Clear written and verbal communication and collaboration.
- Data organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
- Managing time and priorities across multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Organizing projects, tracking tasks, and following through on deliverables.
- Tools or data sources such as Nielsen, Triton, or Brightcove is a plus, but not required.
- Working with data in different formats and supporting teams with data analysis and reporting.
