Applied AI Senior Consultant
Role overview
Dura Digital is seeking an experienced, client-focused Applied AI Senior Consultant to support one of our healthcare clients on a consulting engagement.
In this role, you will help the client design, deliver, and expand AI-powered solutions for health plans and payer organizations. You will combine strong technical expertise with an understanding of payer operations to identify practical opportunities for AI and automation that produce measurable business value.
You will work closely with client executives, operational leaders, and technology teams to understand complex challenges and translate them into responsible, achievable AI solutions. These solutions may support areas such as utilization management, claims processing, care management, member engagement, and administrative operations.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience applying AI and agentic solutions in payer or managed-care environments and can operate as both a trusted advisor and a delivery leader. This is a highly client-facing role requiring the ability to guide initiatives from strategy and use-case identification through solution design, implementation, and optimization.
Key responsibilities
Client engagement and advisory
- Serve as a trusted AI advisor to the client and its health plan and payer customers.
- Lead discovery and solution-design workshops that translate operational challenges into practical AI and automation opportunities.
- Develop AI adoption roadmaps aligned with client priorities, implementation readiness, and expected business value.
- Advise executive and operational stakeholders on responsible AI adoption in regulated healthcare environments.
- Support business development and pre-sales activities, including prospect conversations, presentations, solution development, and RFP responses.
- Guide initiatives from initial concept and pilot development through production deployment and ongoing improvement.
Solution development and delivery
- Lead the design and delivery of AI and automation solutions for payer workflows, including utilization management, claims processing, care management, member services, and administrative operations.
- Design solutions that may incorporate large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, workflow automation, copilots, and agentic orchestration.
- Establish appropriate governance, human-in-the-loop controls, and safeguards for AI-enabled workflows.
- Evaluate AI platforms, technologies, and vendors based on client fit, implementation feasibility, security, compliance, scalability, and expected return on investment.
- Define solution architectures that integrate responsibly with client systems and operating environments.
- Create repeatable frameworks and accelerators that enable consistent delivery across multiple client engagements.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and external vendors throughout solution design and implementation.
Strategy and capability development
- Help evolve the client’s AI solution portfolio by identifying new offerings, capabilities, partnerships, and opportunities for differentiation.
- Collaborate with technology, delivery, compliance, and commercial teams to ensure AI initiatives align with business strategy and client expectations.
- Develop practical responsible-AI frameworks addressing privacy, security, HIPAA compliance, reliability, governance, and organizational change.
- Define and monitor success measures for AI initiatives and clearly communicate results to client and internal stakeholders.
- Stay current on emerging AI technologies, payer-industry trends, and relevant regulatory developments.
Qualifications
- Eight or more years of experience in technology consulting, digital transformation, solution delivery, or a related field, including significant recent experience with applied AI.
