The opportunity: Accounting Senior Manager, Brazil
Tilt is hiring an Accounting Senior Manager to own the accounting operations of our Brazilian entities, including our FIDC. You'll be based in Sรฃo Paulo and run the day-to-day accounting operations: directing our outsourced accounting providers through the local close, reviewing their work, keeping the statutory books and regulatory filings accurate and on time, and delivering a clean monthly package that consolidates into our US reporting. This role is for a hands-on leader who knows Brazilian standards, can hold an external provider to a close calendar, and can explain a local-versus-US GAAP difference to a US finance team. You are the person in Brazil who owns the numbers โ not the person who forwards them. You will report directly to our Corporate Controller in the United States.
This role is based in Sรฃo Paulo and works on a hybrid schedule. Tilt is otherwise a remote-first company that fosters connectivity through regular offsites. Travel for company offsites is required at least twice per year.
How you'll make an impact
-
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for all Brazil entities and deliver the reporting package to the US team on the close calendar
-
Coordinate the daily accounting activities of the Brazil entities โ set the work queue for our outsourced accounting provider, review what they produce, resolve open items, and report close status
-
Hold our external accounting, tax, and payroll providers to agreed deliverables, deadlines, and quality standards; escalate and fix when they slip
-
Maintain statutory books in accordance with Brazilian GAAP
-
Own accounting and reporting for our FIDC โ review the administrator's and custodian's calculations, the receivables portfolio and loan loss provisioning, subordination and waterfall mechanics, and the required CVM filings and audited fund financial statements
-
Prepare and review the US GAAP reporting package, including the local-to-US GAAP bridge and supporting documentation
-
Oversee Brazilian tax compliance with our external advisors โ review federal, state, and municipal filings and book the supporting entries
-
Review and approve reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany activity, and FX translation for the Brazil entities
-
Manage the local statutory and FIDC audits and support the US audit โ pull schedules, respond to requests, and close findings
-
Document Brazil accounting processes and controls, and cut manual work where a system or a better handoff can do it
-
Serve as the accounting point of contact in Brazil for banking partners, the fund administrator, auditors, and internal stakeholders
Why you're a great fit
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent; CRC registration
-
6+ years of accounting experience, including experience directing an accounting team or an outsourced provider
-
Deep, current knowledge of Brazilian accounting standards (CPC / IFRS as adopted in Brazil) and Brazilian statutory and tax reporting obligations
-
Experience owning a full close cycle end to end, on a deadline, for a multi-entity organization
-
Track record of managing external accounting, tax, or payroll providers โ including holding them accountable and improving what they deliver
-
Fluent in Portuguese and English, written and spoken โ you'll work in Portuguese locally and in English with the US team every week
-
Able to work as the senior finance presence in Brazil with a US-based manager, across time zones
-
