Role Overview
The Manager – Cloud Infrastructure is responsible for leading the design, delivery, governance, and operational management of cloud infrastructure services with a primary focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and secondary expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role provides strategic and operational leadership for AMS (Application Management Services) clients, ensuring secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud environments.
The Manager will lead cloud teams, drive service excellence, oversee vendor and stakeholder relationships, manage cloud budgets, and ensure adherence to security, compliance, and operational standards. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to align cloud initiatives with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cloud Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute cloud infrastructure strategies aligned with business and customer objectives.
• Lead the design, implementation, and operational management of OCI environments while overseeing AWS support requirements.
• Establish cloud governance frameworks, standards, and best practices across managed services engagements.
• Drive cloud transformation initiatives, modernization programs, and operational excellence efforts.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to cloud engineering and operations teams.
2. Cloud Operations & Service Delivery
• Own end-to-end cloud infrastructure operations for AMS clients.
• Ensure delivery of services within agreed SLAs, KPIs, and operational targets.
• Oversee infrastructure availability, performance, capacity management, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and patch management processes.
• Drive major incident management, problem management, and root-cause remediation activities.
• Ensure operational readiness for new projects, deployments, and service transitions.
3. Cloud Architecture, Security & Compliance
• Review and approve secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architecture designs.
• Ensure implementation of cloud security controls including IAM, network segmentation, encryption, vulnerability management, and compliance requirements.
• Oversee governance related to audits, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with security and risk teams to maintain security posture and reduce operational risks.
• Champion security-by-design principles across cloud platforms.
4. Financial Management & Cost Optimization
• Manage cloud infrastructure budgets, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Monitor cloud consumption trends and implement optimization initiatives.
• Drive cost governance through rightsizing, resource optimization, reservation strategies, and utilization management.
• Present cloud financial performance, cost-saving opportunities, and optimization recommendations to stakeholders.
• Ensure cloud spending aligns with approved budgets and business objectives.
5. Team Leadership & People Management
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cloud consultants, engineers, and administrators.
• Establish performance goals, conduct reviews, and support employee development planning.
• Drive skill development, certification programs, and continuous learning initiatives.
• Foster a high-performance, customer-focused, and collaborative culture.
• Ensure adequate resource planning and capacity management across engagements.
6. Vendor & Stakeholder Governance
• Manage relationships with Oracle, AWS, technology partners, and third-party service providers.
• Review vendor performance, contractual obligations, SLAs, and service commitments.
• Lead governance reviews, operational meetings, and executive stakeholder communications.
• Escalate and manage critical issues through resolution while ensuring business continuity.
• Act as the primary point of contact for infrastructure-related client escalations.
7. Client Engagement & Governance
• Build trusted advisor relationships with client leadership teams.
