YouTube Video Editor – Travel Vlogs, Comedy & Shorts

Hi! I’m looking for a talented long-term YouTube video editor to join my team and edit travel/lifestyle vlog content. My videos are a mix of travel, comedy, lifestyle, trying new things, and chaotic/funny moments, so I’m looking for someone who understands modern YouTube editing and can turn raw footage into an entertaining story — not just cut clips together. I want the editing to feel fast-paced, funny and natural, without being ridiculously over-edited. What you'll be doing Editing long-form YouTube travel/vlog videos Turning raw footage into a cohesive and entertaining story Cutting boring/unnecessary sections and keeping the pacing engaging Adding music and sound effects where appropriate Adding text, captions, graphics, zooms, cuts, memes, etc. when they improve a joke or moment Basic audio cleanup/mixing Color correcting and color grading footage Working with high-resolution/high-bitrate camera footage Creating multiple vertical YouTube Shorts/Reels/TikToks from each long-form video Identifying the funniest/most interesting moments yourself for Shorts Adding engaging captions/text to vertical content Exporting finished videos at high quality Making reasonable revisions when needed Requirements You MUST: Have previous experience editing YouTube videos Understand comedy timing and storytelling Have a computer powerful enough to smoothly work with large, high-quality video files Have fast/reliable internet for downloading and uploading large amounts of footage Know how to properly color correct/grade footage Know how to clean up and balance audio Understand music selection and how music changes the energy of a scene Know how to edit both 16:9 YouTube videos and 9:16 Shorts/Reels Be comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions Be reliable and communicate well in English Meet agreed deadlines Experience with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or similar professional editing software is preferred. Editing style Think: Travel vlog + personality + comedy + storytelling I don't want every second covered in giant subtitles, explosions and meme sound effects. ???? The personality and story should be the focus. Editing should enhance funny moments rather than overwhelm them. Some sections may be cinematic and beautiful; others should be quick, chaotic and comedic. You should be comfortable switching between both styles.
