These websites should be used as references for the level of quality and functionality we want. We want our own unique branding, design, and personality.
This is not simply a basic WordPress website. Our goal is to build a long-term food brand and create a website designed to grow through Google search, YouTube, email marketing, advertising, affiliate revenue, and other forms of monetization.
PHASE 1: BUILD THE WEBSITE
We need someone who is able to take ownership of the website from planning through launch.
The website should include:
• A beautiful, clean, professional design that works equally well on desktop and mobile
• A homepage designed around our recipes, newest content, popular recipes, recipe categories, Kaitlyn's brand, and YouTube content
• An easy-to-navigate recipe library
• Strong search functionality so visitors can quickly find recipes
• Organized recipe categories and subcategories
• Professional individual recipe pages
• "Jump to Recipe" functionality
• Easy-to-read and printable recipe cards
• Ingredient lists and step-by-step instructions
• Prep time, cook time, total time, servings, and other important recipe information
• Ability for users to change serving sizes when appropriate
• Recipe ratings and comments
• Related recipe recommendations
• High-quality food photography throughout the site
• A YouTube video embedded or prominently linked on each applicable recipe page so visitors can watch the full recipe video
• Strong connections between our website and YouTube channel
• Email signup forms throughout the website
• Landing pages where visitors can enter their email to receive free recipe eBooks, recipe collections, or other downloads
• Automated delivery of free eBooks after someone subscribes
• Integration with an email marketing platform such as Kit, Flodesk, Mailchimp, or another platform you recommend
• Ability to create future lead magnets and email campaigns without rebuilding the website
• Social media links and sharing options
• Pinterest-friendly recipe content
• Affiliate-link capabilities for ingredients, cookware, kitchen products, and other products we recommend
• A website structure ready for advertising and future ad-network monetization
• Ad-friendly page layouts without sacrificing the reader experience
• Google Analytics and Google Search Console setup
• Proper backup, security, SSL, and basic website maintenance systems
• Fast loading times
• Proper image compression and optimization
• Mobile responsiveness
• Strong Core Web Vitals and website performance
SEO IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO US.
We want someone who understands food-blog and recipe SEO, not simply someone who builds attractive websites.
The website needs to be built correctly from the beginning for long-term organic search growth.
This includes:
• Keyword research
• On-page SEO
• Technical SEO
• Recipe schema and structured data
• SEO-friendly URLs
• Proper title and heading structure
• Meta titles and descriptions
• Internal linking
• Image filenames and alt text
• XML sitemap
• Google Search Console
• Page-speed optimization
• Mobile optimization
• Category and site architecture
• Related recipe linking
• Avoiding duplicate or thin content
• Proper indexing
• SEO-friendly recipe cards
PHASE 2: ONGOING RECIPE PUBLISHING AND WEBSITE MANAGEMENT
We are also looking for someone who is interested in working with us long-term after the initial website is complete.
We create new cooking and recipe content regularly.
We would provide the recipe information, photography, and corresponding YouTube video. You w
