Virtual Interior Design Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Virtual Interior Design Assistant to support residential interior design projects from concept through completion. This position will begin part-time, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time and potentially client-facing role.

The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, highly proficient with design technology, and capable of independently managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Responsibilities

- Create furniture layouts, floor plans, and space plans

- Produce detailed kitchen and bathroom elevations

- Develop modeled and photorealistic renderings

- Create mood boards, room boards, and other presentation materials

- Prepare shop drawings for custom furniture designs

- Produce construction documents, including basic electrical and plumbing plans

- Conduct product research, sourcing, and procurement

- Maintain accurate and organized project files

- Participate in virtual team meetings

- Manage multiple schedules, priorities, and deadlines

- Communicate clearly with team members

- Complete projects accurately and within established deadlines

- Support excellent customer service and client retention

Qualifications

- At least three years of interior design experience

- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp Layers

- Strong furniture-layout and space-planning skills

- Experience creating kitchen and bathroom elevations

- Experience producing modeled and photorealistic renderings

- Knowledge of construction documentation

- Familiarity with kitchen and bathroom terminology and standards

- Understanding of furniture placement and required pathway clearances

- Strong written and verbal English communication skills

- Excellent attention to detail and organization

- Ability to work independently in a remote environment

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Software Proficiency

- AutoCAD

- SketchUp Layers

- Adobe Creative Cloud

- Canva

- Google Workspace

- Virtual meeting platforms

- Chief Architect is preferred but not required

Portfolio Requirements

Applicants must submit a resume and interior design portfolio demonstrating relevant drafting and design experience. Whenever possible, the portfolio should include:

- Mood board

- Room board

- Space plan

- Bathroom elevation

- Kitchen elevation

- Modeled rendering

- Photorealistic rendering

- Construction documentation
