Keiki Intercultural Preschool is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School offering an English-immersion, multicultural early childhood learning environment. We follow the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework to nurture curious, confident, and internationally-minded learners from a young age. We're looking for a warm, patient, and energetic teacher to join our team and care for our youngest learners.
Job Description
We are seeking a full-time teacher for our 1–3 year old class. The successful candidate will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where toddlers can develop language, social, and motor skills through play-based learning, in line with our IB-inspired approach to early education. Early childhood education knowledge or experience is a plus, but not essential — we're happy to provide training as long as you're willing to learn.
Responsibilities
Plan and lead age-appropriate activities (songs, sensory play, movement, storytime, arts and crafts)
Support toddlers' daily routines including meals, naps, and toilet training/diaper changes
Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development
Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment
Collaborate with co-teachers and assistant staff
Requirements
Native or near-native level English
Experience working with toddlers/young children preferred (childcare, nursery, or preschool setting)
Interest in or familiarity with IB/PYP philosophy a plus (training provided)
Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic personality
Valid work visa or eligibility for visa sponsorship
Basic Japanese ability helpful but not required
Benefits
Visa sponsorship available
IB training and professional development opportunities
As an IB-accredited school, we offer clear pathways for career growth — you can develop and progress with us as a teacher over time
