In support of Unison 's PRISM, Unison is seeking an experienced Testing Lead to support the maintenance and modernization of a department-level federal agency. This role will own and drive testing activities across system upgrades, patches, new releases, fixes, and enhancements. The Test Lead will combine hands-on testing expertise with leadership, ensuring that system changes are thoroughly planned, executed, validated, and ready for release.
The successful candidate will establish the overall testing approach, lead both planning and execution, oversee supporting QA resources, and serve as a trusted advisor to technical teams, business stakeholders, and federal customer leadership.
Responsibilities
- Own the overall testing and release-validation strategy for upgrades, patches, fixes, new releases, and system enhancements.
- Develop the testing approach and review and approve test plans, test cases, scripts, expected results, and entry and exit criteria.
- Lead and execute System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), upgrade testing, regression testing, and other testing activities as required.
- Develop, write, maintain, and execute test plans and test cases based on business requirements, technical designs, system specifications, and user workflows.
- Validate test results and provide clear recommendations regarding system and release readiness.
- Manage the submission, prioritization, tracking, retesting, and resolution of defects through closure.
- Coordinate with developers, requirements analysts, business analysts, designers, and customer stakeholders to verify issues and confirm resolutions.
- Oversee and coordinate the responsibilities and activities of the QA Test Support resource.
- Review requirements, design documentation, user documentation, release notes, and project specifications for completeness, accuracy, and testability.
- Identify testing risks, dependencies, coverage gaps, and readiness concerns, and communicate them clearly to project leadership.
- Provide business-process optimization recommendations based on testing results, observed system behavior, and stakeholder feedback.
- Develop clear testing status reports, defect summaries, readiness assessments, and recommendations for project and customer leadership.
- Support testing schedules, resource planning, and coordination across multiple workstreams.
- Help establish and maintain an automated regression testing suite using Selenium WebDriver.
