The Software Engineer II Role. Reality Defender is looking for a Software Engineer II to help build and support our Microsoft Teams integration, with a particular focus on the Teams bot and underlying real-time audio/video media functionality.
This is a hands-on software engineering role for someone with strong .NET/C# experience who enjoys working on integrations, real-time systems, and production applications.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft Teams, bots, meeting applications, or real-time media streaming. However, direct Teams experience is not required if you have a strong .NET background and relevant experience building real-time audio/video, communications, or similar applications.
You’ll work closely with engineering, product, and AI teams to build secure, scalable, and reliable integrations that bring Reality Defender’s detection capabilities directly into enterprise communication workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the Microsoft Teams bot and related applications using .NET and C#.

- Develop the underlying real-time audio/video and media-streaming functionality supporting the Teams integration.

- Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations that connect Microsoft Teams with Reality Defender’s platform.

- Work with Microsoft Teams APIs, Microsoft Graph, and related Microsoft technologies.

- Design and implement scalable services for real-time communications and media workflows.

- Integrate third-party services and APIs into production applications.

- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.

- Improve the performance, reliability, scalability, and observability of integration services.

- Write automated tests and contribute to CI/CD and engineering best practices.

- Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.

- Collaborate with Product and other engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.

- Take ownership of projects from design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.

- Help shape the future of Reality Defender’s enterprise integrations and real-time detection capabilities.

Who you are. - 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.

- Strong professional experience developing production applications with .NET and C#.

- Experience working in Windows and Visual Studio environments.

- Strong understanding of .NET frameworks, libraries, and development patterns.

- Experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs.

- Experience building production software with a focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.

- Experience with real-time audio/video, media streaming, communications, or similar technologies.

- Experience building bots, integrations, meeting applications, or other real-time applications is highly relevant.

- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience writing automated tests and working with modern software development practices.
