Requirements
Must-have experience
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale API ecosystems and integration architectures.
- Deep understanding of API contract design and governance, including REST APIs and event-driven architectures.
- Strong experience defining, enforcing, and governing API standards and integration patterns across multiple teams and workstreams.
- Hands-on experience with API gateway platforms, including policy management, rate limiting, security controls, and access management.
- Experience with integration orchestration and iPaaS platforms for workflow-based and recipe-based integrations.
- Strong knowledge of modern authentication and authorization frameworks, including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
- Experience implementing data protection and privacy controls, including tokenization solutions for sensitive data such as PII and NPI.
- Strong expertise in event-driven architecture and event streaming platforms, including Kafka and AWS MSK.
- Experience designing and implementing synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.
- Ability to align API and integration contracts with enterprise canonical and logical data models.
- Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to provide architecture guidance and unblock development teams through hands-on involvement.
- Proven ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and establish processes and structure in evolving environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience leading technical initiatives with minimal supervision and high autonomy.
Nice-to-have experience
- Experience with Gravitee API Gateway.
- Experience with Workato or comparable iPaaS platforms such as MuleSoft or Apigee.
- Experience with durable workflow orchestration platforms such as Temporal or similar frameworks.
- Experience defining or consuming enterprise canonical data models, logical data models, master data management, or data architecture frameworks.
- Familiarity with AI agent orchestration patterns, including LangGraph and agentic workflow frameworks.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise integration modernization initiatives.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture governance and integration best practices.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the API and integration intake lifecycle, including intake, assessment, prioritization, governance, and execution.
- Define, implement, and enforce API contract standards and enterprise integration governance frameworks.
- Design scalable, secure, and reusable integration architectures across multiple business and technology workstreams.
- Establish and operationalize synchronous and event-driven integration patterns across the enterprise.
- Design and implement secure boundary controls to protect sensitive information in non-production environments.
- Configure, administer, and optimize API gateway and integration orchestration platforms.
- Design, support, and enhance event streaming solutions using Kafka and AWS MSK.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of durable workflow orchestration solutions.
- Ensure API contracts and integration solutions align with enterprise data architecture and canonical data models.
- Collaborate with architecture, engineering, data, security, and platform teams to deliver scalable integration solutions.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, architecture guidance, and implementation support to engineering teams.
- Drive best practices for API security, access control, governance, and lifecycle management.
- Evaluate and recommend integration technologies, tools, and architectural approaches.
- Identify and resolve complex technical challenges impacting integration and API delivery.
- Support enterprise adoption of modern integration, automation, and API management capabilities.
