Social Media Manager – Paid Trial (Hiring 2, Ongoing Role for Top Performer

We are a US-based small business hiring a social media manager to run our day-to-day social presence and engage directly with customers online. We're starting with a paid trial and hiring two candidates in parallel — the stronger performer will be offered the ongoing role afterward. Responsibilities: 1. Creating and scheduling posts across our social media channels. 2. Responding to comments and messages, engaging with customers and followers in a way that reflects well on our brand. 3. Maintaining a content calendar. 4. Assisting with promotional campaigns. Requirements: 1. Excellent written English — this is the top priority, since you'll be representing our brand directly in customer-facing conversations. 2. Proven experience managing social media accounts for a business, not just personal accounts. 3. Comfortable with our platforms (specify: Instagram, Facebook , TikTok, etc.). 4. Organized and able to keep a consistent posting schedule with minimal oversight. Trial structure: this is a paid 2-week trial. We are hiring two candidates for this period to evaluate fit and quality of work, and both will be paid equally and fairly regardless of outcome. At the end of the trial, we'll offer the ongoing position to whoever performed stronger. Schedule: Part-time during the trial, approximately 15–20 hours/week. For your first task, please create 3 sample social media posts for our brand — one for Instagram, one for Facebook , and one TikTok caption. Please follow these requirements exactly: each post must be under 150 characters, include exactly 2 relevant hashtags, and be submitted in a single document with each post labeled by platform.
