Short-Form Sports Video Editor — Remote, Seasonal

September 2026 – Early February 2027 | Part-Time | Remote I am looking for a fast, reliable video editor to join me for the upcoming American football season and edit short-form sports content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms. This is a seasonal position running from September through early February with the potential for future work. What You'll Be Editing: The majority of the content will be relatively straightforward talking-head sports videos. I will film and provide the raw footage. Your responsibility will be to turn that footage into polished, engaging short-form content that is ready to post. Typical edits may include: * Cutting pauses, mistakes, and unnecessary footage * Adding dynamic captions/subtitles * Adding relevant photos, graphics, screenshots, statistics, scores, headlines, or other supporting visuals * Adding zooms, transitions, and other simple effects where appropriate * Adding background music or sound effects when appropriate * Formatting videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts * Maintaining a consistent editing style across my content * Exporting and returning final videos quickly The goal is clean, fast-paced sports content — not excessive or distracting editing. Turnaround Time Is Extremely Important: This position requires someone who can work quickly. For most assignments, I need completed edits returned within approximately 2 hours of receiving the raw footage. Because much of my content covers current sports news and events, videos often lose value if they are not posted quickly. Please do not apply if you regularly need 24–48 hours to complete short-form edits. Required Availability I am located in the Eastern Time Zone in the United States. You must generally be available for a minimum 4-hour editing window during my evening hours, particularly approximately: **Weekdays: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM Eastern Time** BUT, if you are able to finish videos faster than 4 hours, then you are done as soon as you finish. 4 hours is the maximum time per day, realistically it is around 2 hours. There will also be an important Sunday requirement during football season. **Sundays: Availability beginning around 1:00 PM Eastern Time** Sunday availability is particularly important because content may need to be produced quickly while NFL games are taking place. Your schedule does not need to consist of constant editing for the entire availability window. However, I need you to be reachable and prepared to begin an edit quickly when footage is sent. Ideal Candidate: You are a strong fit if you: * Have experience editing TikTok, Reels, Shorts, or similar vertical content * Are extremely reliable * Can consistently meet 1–2 hour turnaround requirements * Have excellent written English * Understand American social media styles and trends * Have a strong internet connection * Communicate quickly and clearly * Are comfortable working independently * Pay close attention to spelling, names, statistics, and captions * Can follow an established editing style instead of reinventing the format for every video * Are comfortable with recurring work over an entire sports season **Knowledge of American football/NFL is a major advantage.** You do not need to be an NFL expert, but understanding teams, players, scores, terminology, and basic football concepts will make this job significantly easier.
