SKILL REQUIREMENTS Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, sound design, motion graphics, kinetic captions, short-form editing, podcast clipping JOB DESCRIPTION Read this ENTIRE post before you apply. We reject almost everyone, and this post tells you exactly why. We are ---------- . We are a premium podcast booking agency in the United States. Our clients are coaches, consultants, speakers, and business owners who get booked on the biggest podcasts in their industry. We are the high-end option in our space. Everything we put out has to look and feel expensive. We are hiring ONE full-time short-form video editor to turn long podcast episodes into clips that stop the scroll. This is not a "chop it up and add captions" job. This is a craft job. If you are the right person, this is steady full-time work for years with real creative freedom. THE STYLE. READ THIS FIRST BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE. We want Devin Jatho style clipping. Nothing else. Not close to it. Not "inspired by" it. That exact level. Look at these examples before you read one more word: - ---------- - ---------- - ---------- DO NOT APPLY IF YOU CANNOT ALREADY PRODUCE THAT EXACT LEVEL OF WORK TODAY. We mean this. Please read it twice. -Do not apply if you have never edited in this style before. -Do not apply if you cannot show us clips you already made that look like this. -Do not apply if you are "willing to learn it" or "confident you can pick it up fast." We are NOT TRAINING anyone on this. We are hiring someone who already does it. -Do not apply if you looked at those links and thought "that is above my level." That is a completely fine thing to be, but this is not the job for you and we will not be able to hire you. -Do not apply if your work is close but not quite there. Close does not get hired. It only wastes your time and ours. If you apply without experience in this exact style, your application will be deleted without a reply. No exceptions. We are not being rude. We are just being clear so you do not spend 30 minutes on something that cannot work out. If you looked at those links and thought "that is my normal work" - keep reading. We want you. ONE MORE HARD REQUIREMENT: THE FREE TEST VIDEO Every finalist edits one free test video for us. One clip. No pay for it. We do this because links can be borrowed and portfolios can be polished. The only way we know for sure is to hand you a real episode with no guidance and see what you come back with. If you are not willing to do the free test video, do not apply. That is an automatic disqualification. No exceptions, no negotiating it, no "I can send more samples instead." Please do not email us to ask if we can skip it. The answer is no. You must say "yes" to the free test video in your application. If you leave it out or dodge the question, you are out. The good news: it is one clip, not a project. We are not asking you to work for free for a week. And if the clip is good, you are hired, and that clip becomes the fastest money you ever made. ALSO DO NOT APPLY IF ANY OF THIS IS YOU We spot all of it in about 10 seconds. -You use Opus Clip, Vizard, Klap, or any auto-clipping tool to find or cut your clips. -You use one-click caption tools as your entire edit. (CapCut or Submagic auto-captions are fine as a rough first layer. They are not a finished product.) -Your portfolio is a showreel of other people's work, or work you only "assisted" on. -Every clip you have looks like the same template with a different face in it. -You need someone to tell you which part of the episode to clip. -You cannot show real clips that actually ran on a real account. -You are applying to 50 jobs today with the same copy-paste message. -You will not do the free test video. Automatic disqualification. WHAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY DO -Watch podcast episodes (30 to 90 minutes) and find the moments that will pop. This is the most important part of the job. Lots of people can cut. Almost nobody can spot the gold.
