About the role
The Senior Reviewer, Code & Web Templates is responsible for reviewing, assessing, and maintaining quality standards across Envato ’s broad code and web template categories, including Web Themes & UI Templates, Template Kits, WordPress, WordPress Plugins, Scripts, Plugins, and Code assets.
As Envato continues to evolve its Content Operations model, this role will help consolidate review expertise into a smaller, stronger, and more scalable team in Mexico. The Senior Reviewer will be expected to apply expert judgment across the full Code Review landscape, ensuring that submissions meet Envato ’s technical, usability, security, originality, documentation, and commercial-quality expectations.
This role plays a critical part in protecting customer trust, supporting contributor quality, improving review consistency, and helping Envato maintain a high-quality marketplace experience across its web, theme, template, and code categories.
What you'll be doing
Scope of Review Coverage
- This role may review and support quality decisions across the following asset groups:
- Web Themes & UI Templates.
- Site Templates.
- UI Templates.
- Template Kits.
- ThemeForest categories, excluding areas that require separate specialists. handling where applicable.
- WordPress themes.
- WordPress plugins.
- Scripts.
- Plugins.
- Code assets.
- Front-end templates and components.
- Admin dashboards, landing pages, HTML templates, and related web products.
- PHP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and CMS-based assets.
- Deep specialization in every domain is not required from the outset. However, this role requires a strong full-stack technical foundation, practical hands-on experience, and the learning agility necessary to effectively review, assess, and contribute across all relevant areas at a high professional standard.
Content Review & Quality Assessment
- Review and assess submissions across all code and web template categories against Envato ’s technical, quality, usability, documentation, security, and commercial standards.
- Apply review criteria consistently across all asset types, including design quality, code quality, functionality, responsiveness, browser compatibility, accessibility, performance, security, dependency management, documentation, installation and setup experience, originality, and commercial value, while adapting standards to the specific expectations of each category.
- Identify and reject submissions that do not meet marketplace standards, including those with poor code quality, broken functionality, inadequate documentation, security concerns, excessive dependencies, low originality, poor usability, intellectual property risks, or limited commercial value.
- Provide clear, objective, and constructive review outcomes aligned with established review guidelines.

- Identify complex, ambiguous, or high-risk submissions and escalate them to the appropriate stakeholders for further review.
