The Senior Global Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and executing the global sourcing and category strategies for the Biochemicals commodity and associated sub commodities across Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, spend responsibility for this role is approximately $234m per year. This role drives cost, quality, service, innovation, sustainability, risk management and supply chain continuity outcomes by partnering cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, R&D, Planning, and Supplier Quality to optimize the end-to-end Biochemical supply base in support of business growth and operational excellence.
This position is part of the Global Strategic Procurement team. This role offers remote working to ensure a resilient, competitive, and compliant global biochemicals supply base that supports product availability worldwide.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Strategic Category Leadership: Develop, define, and execute global category strategies for chemicals/biochemicals, delivering cost reduction, quality, delivery, sustainability goals and supply risk‑mitigation.

Supplier Management & Negotiation Excellence
evaluate suppliers, lead competitive events (RFIs/RFPs/auctions), negotiate agreements, drive preferred‑supplier adoption, and manage supplier performance to meet Beckman Coulters needs.

Advanced Analytical & Business Skills: develop spend analysis, market intelligence, project repository maintenance, financial analysis, budget/price guidance, track /report savings against annual objectives.

Cross‑Functional Leadership & Influence: lead without direct authority—guide other functions and collaborate strongly with our R&D / NPI teams to provide strategic direction on supplier selection.

Continuous Improvement & DBS (Lean) Mindset: Adopt and use structured continuous‑improvement tools (e.g., Lean, Kaizen, DBS) to improve cost, quality, delivery, inventory, cash, across Beckman Coulter.
The essential requirements of the job include:

Education: Bachelor’s degree, MBA or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.

Experience: 12+ years of procurement/sourcing experience in chemicals, biochemicals, or biologics, including strategic sourcing and supplier management. Experience of sourcing FDA regulated products preferred, 5+ years managing biochemical reagent categories (e.g., antibodies, antigens, enzymes, beads) or operating in a te
