Why are you interested?
DBI is seeking a highly ambitious, driven and experienced Senior Director to open an expansion office in San Francisco. The Senior Director will lead building consulting teams, oversee complex projects, and produce the high-quality deliverables expected of DBI. This is a strategic, high-impact role for a seasoned construction expert who thrives in both the field and office.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $170,000.00 - $215,000.00 plus competitive healthcare benefits, 401k match and twice-annual bonus potential. This role will start as fully remote with the opportunity to select an office location within San Francisco metro area and in agreement with the company Partners.
What You’ll Do

Engage past client relationships from the insurance and construction industries.

Facilitate Business Development and Marketing events for new client acquisition.

Provide construction expertise for a wide range of complex projects including residential, commercial, and industrial.

Perform on-site inspections following property damage, taking scoping notes, photo documentation, and measurements.

Develop estimates for all levels of project complexity.

Produce DBI reports such as BDRs, ROMs, RCCs, and CSIs with high attention to detail and accuracy.

Determine team composition and partner with People & Culture for Workforce Planning.

Recruit, hire, lead and develop a team of construction consultants for property damage evaluations.

Oversee project scopes, budgets, KPIs, time entry, invoices, and deliverables for team.

Drive consistency in estimating, workflow, documentation, and quality standards.

Support company initiatives and continuously improve processes, tools, and team capabilities.

Represent DBI with professionalism, integrity, and strong communication during site visits and client interactions.
What You Bring
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.

15+ years of experience within building consulting and/or construction management projects.

Strong client relationships from the property insurance industry.

Strong estimating and project management experience (Xactimate, Bluebeam, P6 or MS Project).

Ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and communicate findings clearly.

Comfortable working in the field—including roofs, heights, tight spaces, and post-loss environments.

Motivated, analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about construction.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel ~20%.
