Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Location: United States (MA / Austin TX / MD)

Team: Product & Engineering

Employment Type: Full-Time
About VulnCheck

Exploitation prevention is only as strong as the intelligence driving those efforts, and most of the industry is still running on intelligence that lacks exploit context. VulnCheck, The Exploit Intelligence Company, delivers structured exploit intelligence on what is actively weaponized in the wild, purpose-built for the data lakes, ETL pipelines, automation, and AI and LLM workflows your infrastructure already runs on, raising the capability of everything it powers.
About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and scale the infrastructure and operational systems that power VulnCheck’s exploit intelligence platform. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you’ll own critical infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and reliability practices end-to-end - from design through production.

You’ll play a key role in shaping our infrastructure architecture, driving DevOps and SRE best practices, and ensuring the platform is secure, scalable, and highly available. While you’ll help resolve production issues, your focus will be on building durable, automated solutions that prevent them. This is a 100% remote role but we're primarily looking for candidates in the United States (MA / Austin TX / MD).
What You’ll Do

- Design and build scalable, secure cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines

- Own infrastructure end-to-end, including architecture, provisioning, deployment, and operation

- Lead technical design discussions and contribute to infrastructure and platform architecture decisions

- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automation to support engineering velocity

- Debug complex production issues and implement long-term, scalable solutions

- Improve system performance, reliability, observability, and cost-efficiency across the platform

- Define and drive SRE practices, including SLIs/SLOs, incident response, and postmortems

- Partner closely with Product and other Engineering teams to deliver impactful features

- Own and participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and operational readiness

What You’ll Bring

- 5+ years of experience building and scaling cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE systems

- Strong programming or scripting skills in one or more languages (Python, Go, Bash, etc.)

- Experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or threat intelligence

- Deep experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)

- Experience designing and operating distributed systems and microservices architectures

- Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and driving deployment automation

- Proven ability to debug and optimize production systems, including on-call ownership

- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to lead projects independently

- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with CVE, NVD, KEV, or exploit intelligence datasets

- Experience with observability platforms (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)

- Background in high-growth or startup environments
