Senior Accountant

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support a diverse portfolio of international and domestic clients. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, multicultural environment while developing expertise across a broad range of industries. The role will primarily focus on bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax compliance, and client support, while also mentoring junior team members and assisting managers with operational initiatives and client onboarding. You will work closely with team managers, junior accountants, and clients to deliver high quality accounting services and ensure compliance with Japanese accounting and tax regulations. Responsibilities Include: - Perform monthly bookkeeping and accounting services for multiple clients - Prepare annual financial statements - Prepare corporate, consumption, and other tax returns - Prepare payment records and depreciable asset tax returns - Respond to accounting and tax related inquiries from clients - Support managers with team planning, new client onboarding, and internal projects - Mentor, train, and support junior accounting staff Required Qualifications - 2+ years experience of handling monthly and annual accounting operations at an accounting firm or tax accounting office. - 2+ years of tax filing or tax compliance experience - Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including SUMIF, VLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables - Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail - Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment - JCCI Bookkeeping Level 2 (日商簿記2級) certification Preferred Qualifications - Experience working at an accounting firm or tax accounting office - At least 2 years of tax filing or tax compliance experience - JCCI Bookkeeping Level 2 (日商簿記2級) certification We welcome candidates who are flexible, collaborative, patient, and highly motivated to continue developing their accounting expertise.
