English-Please! is a chain of three independent, modern, Eikaiwa Language Schools. Two of the schools are in Nara Prefecture (Kashihara City and Tawaramoto Cho), and our newest school, which opened in 2024, is in Kyoto Prefecture (Kizugawa City). We are looking for an outgoing, experienced Native English Instructor who is available to join our teaching staff from September 2026 on Saturday mornings in either Kashihara City (Yamoto-Yagi) or Tawaramoto. Typically, Saturday morning lessons start around 9am. The number of lessons in a single shift can range from 3 to 6 according to the applicants availability. Lessons are 30, 40, 45 or 50 mins (depending on the age of the students). Class sizes are small, averaging 4 students per class. Students range in age from 2 years to adult. The successful applicant will be required to: • Prepare and deliver 3~6 kids, teens or adults English (Eikaiwa) lessons per shift. There are 42 teaching weeks per year. • Report student progress (a few sentences following each lesson to less us know how things went) • Attend 8~12 hours preservice training (we can work around your schedule and some parts of the training can be work-from-home) • Attend a company-wide Seminar once a year, usually the last Sunday in March. Job details: • Lessons are compensated at a rate of ¥3,000 for a 50-minute lesson (including preparation and reporting), ¥2,500 for a 40-minute or 45-minute lesson (including preparation and reporting), and ¥2,000 for a 30-minute lesson (including preparation and reporting). Lesson Reports take about 5 mins per lesson taught. Preparation time decreases from about 15 mins per lesson as a trainee to 5~10 mins after a couple of months as most of the games and activities repeat and need little review once you are used to them. • Training is paid at an hourly rate of ¥1,250, plus transport • Part-timer shifts are nearly always blocked lesson-to-lesson shifts. For 5 and 6 lesson shifts, there is a 1 hour lunch break. • Schedules are pretty fixed, allowing the teacher to teach the same students week after week, which helps develop a better relationship with students. • Transportation is covered by the employer. The Kashihara (Yamato-Yagi) school is 45 minutes from Namba by Kintentsu, and it's a 5-minute walk from the station to the school. • EP classrooms are clean, spacious and have really useful teaching tools. All classrooms have projectors and speakers. In Kashihara, there is a shared office with individual workstations. All our staff, native and Japanese, are welcoming, friendly and supportive. • EP! is a great teaching environment – the multimedia tools help make lessons more engaging for students and more enjoyable to teach. There are many toys and teaching aids on the shelves and we gamify anything and everything so EP teaching days go by really fast. We have a really thorough approach to placement, so most classes have kids who are both similar in age and ability.
