SMHQ JOB DESCRIPTION: RESEARCH AND PR CONTENT SPECIALIST =================================== ABOUT SMHQ =================================== SMHQ runs two connected UK property websites. SMHQ Network ( ---------- ) is a licence and franchise business aimed at property investors who want to find motivated sellers, with 58 people currently in the franchise network. ---------- is our main lead generation website, where we find motivated sellers directly, generating over 4,000 motivated seller leads in the last year. =================================== ROLE SUMMARY =================================== We're looking for a research and PR content specialist to turn our own lead data into original research that positions SMHQ as a leading voice in the property industry, and earns us high-quality backlinks and press coverage. Each month, the goal is to produce one piece of original research based on patterns in our motivated seller and below-market-value (BMV) lead data. For example, identifying that a specific town generates a disproportionately high number of BMV leads compared to similar or even much larger areas, and turning that into a proper research write-up. From there, the role covers writing press releases, pitching that research to local and national newspapers and media outlets, and pushing it out across our own social channels, with the aim of getting other outlets and industry influencers to pick it up and quote us. This is genuinely three roles combined: researcher, PR writer, and content/SEO writer, and we're looking for someone comfortable across all three. As with all our roles, we're looking for someone with a good attitude and a genuine growth mindset, who wants to learn and grow. We want people who will stay with us long term and become loyal, trusted team members. =================================== MUST-HAVE SKILLS =================================== Research and analysis - Comfortable working with data and spotting genuinely interesting patterns or stories in it - Able to turn raw data into a clear, credible research write-up or report Press release writing and outreach - Strong press release writing - Experience pitching stories to journalists, newspapers, or media outlets - Understanding of what makes a story newsworthy enough to be picked up Content and SEO writing - Strong general writing ability - Understanding of backlink-focused and SEO-friendly content =================================== NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS =================================== - Existing media or journalist contacts - Experience working in or writing about the property industry - Social media copywriting experience - Design skills for simple charts or report graphics =================================== APPLICATION EVIDENCE REQUIRED =================================== Applicants should provide examples of previous research write-ups, press releases, or articles that were picked up by media outlets, along with any backlink or coverage results if available. =================================== HOURS AND PAY =================================== 20 to 40 hours per week.
