POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for design engineering of electrical systems. Additionally, oversees and coordinates work with designated subcontractors. Possesses excellent knowledge of functional disciplines and their practical application and applicable industry codes and regulations. Responsible for making technical decisions regarding electrical systems to ensure compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, RTOs and ISOs requirements. Reports to the Computational Innovation Manager within the Office of Technology group. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Coordinates the design of electrical systems for microgrids and Data Centers - Establishes and reviews project requirements, develops project schedules, and coordinates their implementation - Creates and reviews electrical system design work products such as, one-line diagrams, equipment requirement specifications, functional specifications, system design descriptions, engineering studies, engineering reports, Inspection, Test, Analysis & Acceptance Criteria (ITAAC), and associated calculations - Performs interdisciplinary review of work products of interfacing disciplines and owner review/acceptance of subcontractor work products - Performs other duties as assigned CORE COMPETENCIES: To perform the job successfully, the individual should demonstrate competencies in performing the essential functions of this position by performing satisfactorily in each of these competencies. - Problem solving : Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and reviews information appropriately. MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES : - Education : A minimum of a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required, with an emphasis in power systems analysis preferred; professional engineer (P.E.) license registration and/or advanced degree is preferred. - Experience :A minimum of 5 years of experience in the commercial power industry with focus on design or systems engineering is required. Preferred experience includes: - Knowledge of electric power distribution, load following, dynamic Data Center power demand, energy storage. Familiar with Grid-Forming Control, Grid-Following Control and EPMS. - Extensive experience using ETAP to perform Microgrid Power System Analysis, distribution network analysis, load flow, short-circuit, protective relaying and coordination analysis - Experience with I&C systems for steam generation, steam valves, safety systems and integration of closed-loop SCADA controlled systems applied to turbo-machinery and industrial processes. - Experience support
