Principal Product Manager Location: Tokyo preferred | Open to exceptional candidates in other regions The Mission We are hiring a Principal Product Manager to own one of the company’s most strategic product areas: AI Trust Systems. This role sits at the center of how we build products for high-stakes workflows where accuracy, explainability, judgment, and trust matter. Our work is especially relevant in investor relations, disclosure, and other trust-sensitive communications where errors carry real reputational, regulatory, and commercial consequences. This is not a roadmap management role. It is a principal-level seat for a product leader who can set direction, make hard calls, and turn ambiguity into sharp decisions. You will work closely with a Tokyo-based team and partner directly with a global leadership team. The role is Tokyo-centric in market context, customer reality, and team collaboration, but we are open to exceptional candidates in other regions. Bilingual fluency in Japanese and English is preferred, but not required, however, you should be able to operate credibly in both local and global contexts, bridging Japanese market nuance with company-level product direction. About Us Straker is a tech company with global clientele, international offices, and major tech partnerships. Listed on ASX since 2018, Straker redefines global language services with advanced tech and solid artificial intelligence (AI). Merging cutting-edge technology with linguistic prowess, our affordable, precise and scalable solutions reshape industry standards. Straker radically innovates to be a leading and trusted partner in AI Verification solutions. What You’ll Be Doing You will own product direction for a critical part of the business. That includes identifying the right problems, shaping where we invest, and ensuring what we build creates real customer and business value. You will work across engineering, design, data, and go-to-market teams to turn ambiguous opportunities into focused decisions and shipped outcomes. You will not be handed neatly packaged work. You will be expected to frame the problem, establish a point of view, and drive the company toward the right answer. You will also serve as a key bridge between the local Tokyo team and global leadership, ensuring market reality and execution insight meaningfully shape product strategy. What We Are Looking For 【Must-Haves】 - 3 - 5 years of experience in a product management role. 【Nice-to-Haves】 - Experience with investor relations, disclosure workflows, regulated communications, or other high-consequence content environments is valuable, but direct financial domain experience is not required. - Professional experience at a SaaS/ IT/ AI or other startup company. - Bilingual skills in Japanese and English with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages at a high level Ideal Candidate Profile - You start with the truth. You focus on the real customer problem, the real constraint, and the real consequence of getting it wrong. - You think in bets, not backlog. You make assumptions explicit, test them quickly, and look for the smallest credible move that creates value and sharpens the next decision. - You are rigorous about tradeoffs. You know what matters, what does not, and what evidence would change your mind. - You understand that in trust-sensitive workflows, product quality is not just about speed or usability. It is also about confidence, transparency, control, traceability, and how the system behaves when certainty is low. - You kill weak ideas early. You raise the quality of decisions around you. You create clarity across teams, functions, and geographies. - You have substantial product management experience and have operated at a level where your judgment shaped product and business direction, not just execution. - You have led important product areas through ambiguity and earned trust by making strong calls. You can identify
