Responsibilities

The Payroll and Compliance Specialist is responsible for processing accurate and timely biweekly payroll for 600+ employees, ensuring full compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll regulations, and serving as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related audit activity. This role maintains a strong controls orientation, proactively identifies compliance risk, and partners with HR leadership to strengthen the accuracy and integrity of payroll operations.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree, required.

- A minimum of three years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll, with an enterprise HRIS platform required; Dayforce (Ceridian) experience strongly preferred.

- Strong working knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and compliance required.

- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.

Physical Demands:

- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

- Must be able to read, write, speak and type English.

- Must be able to hear and use a telephone.

- Use of computer requires repetitive keystrokes.

Work Environment:

- This role is fully remote, with the option to work from our HQ or retail locations.

- As part of your role, you will occasionally travel between Grow locations within the Tampa Bay area.
