Position Summary:

Working from their home, the Part-time School Psychometrist will support the special education evaluation process by preparing for, administering, scoring, documenting, and assisting with psychological and educational assessments under standard testing conditions and in alignment with required protocols. This role works closely with school personnel, case managers, and special education leadership to ensure evaluations are completed accurately, securely, and within IDEA-mandated timelines. The School Psychometrist will help coordinate testing logistics, maintain assessment materials, communicate concerns related to test validity or timelines, and support data collection and preliminary interpretation to inform eligibility and IEP team decision-making.
Position Responsibilities

The School Psychometrist will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks:

- Prepare and administer psychological, educational, and/or social emotional behavioral in various formats using virtual tools.

- Explain testing procedures and objectives to students and work with students to support compliance with testing protocols and procedures to ensure appropriate test completion.

- Assist school personnel in administering and completing evaluations and other assessments required to determine student eligibility or collect data for IEP team purposes, as appropriate.

- Maintain records of testing supplies, instruments, and equipment on hand and order replacement stock as necessary.

- Perform basic interpretation of standardized tests of psychological functioning, as appropriate, and make recommendations to the attending case manager regarding the need for retesting, additional testing, or programming considerations.

- Ensure confidentiality of test results and recommendations and maintain the security of testing materials.

- Assessment library and related testing materials, as appropriate for assigned evaluations

Requirements

- Certification in school psychometry from a state-approved program required; certification must meet Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) requirements.

- Must hold and maintain all required Alabama credentials, certifications, or authorizations necessary to administer psycho-educational assessments in accordance with ALSDE and program expectations.
