(Part-Time Contract) Community and Member Advocacy Manager

We're looking for a part-time contract Community and Member Advocacy Manager to help grow Virta's member engagement through a few key projects. This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys building relationships, bringing people together, and creating meaningful experiences that strengthen our Virta member community.
You'll work directly with members and member ambassadors to coordinate local events, support community-building efforts on social media, and help transform participating members into long-term Virta advocates.
Throughout the process, you will also help identify compelling member stories that can support the communications and marketing teams.
This is a highly collaborative role for someone who is energized by connecting with people and thrives in a fast-moving environment.
Contract Details - Hours : 20 hours/week
- Length : 12 weeks
- Rate : $45-50/hr
Responsibilities As part of the communications team, you’ll support three main initiatives, through a 12-week sprint, with a laser focus on growing our Virta member community.
Member Meet-up Program
Our Member Meet-Up Program is a new program we’re building to encourage peer-to-peer support and to help our members connect with one another in meaningful ways - from coffee shop convos, to park walks, to recipe swaps.
You will help manage the day-to-day operations of the program, and work directly with Virta members to help plan and execute local meet-ups for the next meet-up cycle. This process includes:
- Help recruit, onboard, and support Virta members who want to organize a local meet-up.
- Coordinate outreach campaigns, event communications, RSVP management, and follow-up.
- Maintain organized documentation, program trackers, event calendars, waivers, and contact lists.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for highly engaged members.
- Continuously evaluate the program and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, member participation, and scalability.
Member Community Management
We have a growing online community which has become a go-to place for members to seek support, information, and inspiration throughout their Virta journey.
In this role, you will help build authentic relationships with our community through ongoing communication and support across Virta’s social platforms.
- Monitor comments and direct messages across Virta’s social channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Threads, YouTube, and TikTok).
- Respond to member questions and conversations in a warm, thoughtful, and on-brand voice.
- Escalate member support issues using Virta’s community care process.
- Track social care cases and ensure they are resolved.
- recurring member feedback, questions, and trends with the Communications and Member teams.
- Follow community guidelines and privacy standards, moving conversations to private support channels when needed.
