Role Overview:

- Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Cloud Data Architect / Engineer with deep expertise in SQL‑based data architecture and enterprise reporting platforms.

- The role will be part of a team supporting a major insurance client, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable Oracle Cloud (OCI) data architecture and database solutions for analytics and reporting environments.

- Play a critical role in architecting cloud‑based data platforms, optimizing database performance, and ensuring reliability, security, and scalability of reporting systems.

- Collaborate within an agile, cross‑functional team comprising diverse technical backgrounds to solve complex data and cloud architecture challenges across Oracle Cloud and integrated platforms.

- Actively participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and brainstorming sessions, driving continuous improvement initiatives from concept through implementation.

- Required to navigate ambiguous requirements and translate business needs into robust technical data models and cloud solutions.

- Ideal candidate will have 8+ years of overall IT experience, including 5+ years in a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineering role with strong SQL expertise; experience in the life insurance domain is preferred but not mandatory.

Application development Skillsets:
- Proven experience designing cloud‑native and hybrid data architectures.

- Understanding of security, access controls, encryption, and compliance in cloud environments.

- Ability to handle ambiguous requirements and drive architectural clarity.

- Strong computer science fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures, multithreading, object-oriented development, distributed applications, client-server architecture

- Strong expertise in SQL (advanced joins, window functions, performance tuning).

- Hands on experience with Oracle Databases (Autonomous DB, Oracle 19c/21c preferred).

- Solid knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) components including:
- OCI Object Storage

- Networking and IAM

- Compute and Database services

- Experience designing enterprise data models (dimensional, relational, reporting focused).

- Familiarity with ETL / data integration tools and batch data pipelines.

- Strong understanding of data migration, reconciliation, and validation strategies.

- Experience supporting reporting and analytics platforms (BI tools, data marts).

- Experience in web services, streaming and messaging technologies is a plus.

- Proven ability to optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing and stored procedure optimization.

- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and inspire a team.

- Experience with collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing client and stakeholder expectations.

- Demonstrated experience with data governance, data security and privacy regulations.

Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's/master's degree in computer science/engineering, operations research, or related analytics areas welcome to apply.

- 10+ years' of IT experience with expertise in Oracle and Oracle Cloud based architectures, preferably in Life Insurance but not mandatory
