Marketing Specialist - Full Time-Temporary
Overview
SRI is seeking a full-time temporary (ideally September through March) Marketing Specialist to provide marketing and communications support to the Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C®) and will report to the QED-C Sr. Manager, Membership & Operations. This role is remote within the U.S.
The Marketing Specialist will support a range of digital marketing and communications activities, including social media, newsletter creation and distribution, email marketing, event marketing, website updates, vendor coordination, and brand quality control, ensuring QED-C is represented consistently and appropriately as the trusted voice of the quantum industry. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented marketing generalist who can manage recurring communications, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure materials are clear, polished, timely, and consistent with organizational brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Draft, schedule, and publish social media content across organizational channels, primarily LinkedIn.
- Support the creation, formatting, and distribution of biweekly newsletters.
- Deploy email marketing campaigns, including drafting copy, building emails, managing distribution lists, scheduling sends, and tracking basic performance metrics.
- Build and distribute emails using HubSpot
- Support marketing and communications for events, workshops, special meetings, and webinars.
- Working in collaboration with the QED-C Events Manager, support flagship event-related promotional campaigns, including emails, social media posts, website updates, registration copy, speaker highlights, reminders, sponsor or member recognition, and post-event communications and outputs.
- Make routine website updates in WordPress, including posting news items, events, publications, resources, and other content. Ensure website content is accurate, well-formatted, current, and aligned with organizational messaging.
- Manage basic contact lists, campaign assets, and marketing workflows as needed.
- Track and report basic engagement metrics for newsletters, emails, social media, and campaigns.
- Proofread and edit marketing content for clarity, accuracy, formatting, tone, and brand alignment.
- Ensure all marketing materials, digital content, email campaigns, social media posts, event promotions, website updates, graphics, and vendor-created assets align with the organization’s brand voice, visual identity, messaging, and quality standards.
- Review drafts, designs, proofs, and final assets for consistency in tone, formatting, terminology, logo usage, colors, typography, and overall presentation.
- Apply brand guidelines across internal and external marketing materials, including assets created by vendors, contractors, freelance writers, designers, and internal contributors.
- Help maintain organized brand assets, templates, messaging documents, and style guidance to support consistent execution across channels.
- Create simple graphics and marketing assets in Canva.
- Flag inconsistencies, outdated messaging, or off-brand materials and coordinate revisions before publication or distribution.
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support marketing and communications deliverables to keep projects moving on schedule and within agreed-upon scope.
- Manage timelines, details, and follow-up for promotional item orders, including gathering specifications, reviewing proofs, tracking approvals, and coordinating delivery needs.
- Support coordination of blog content with external writers, contributors, or subject matter experts, including managing drafts, edits, approvals, and posting timelines.
