Role Objective

The team works on keeping map data accurate and updated based on real-world changes. The work includes reviewing issues submitted by map users and testing location results shown in web search and map platforms.

The Mapping City/Country Expert supports transit and mapping data quality by providing local market expertise and improving city and country-level data accuracy.

Responsibilities – City Expert

- Communicate with internal teams and external partners to support project goals

- Create city-level transit data policies based on local market needs and regulations

- Identify user expectations, data gaps, and transit-related issues

- Improve transit data models using local knowledge of transportation systems

- Validate and review updated transit data

- Edit and maintain different types of transit data

- Resolve complex mapping and transit data issues

- Support Program Managers in communication with data providers and partners

- Conduct field research to verify transit information and user issues

- Support outage and alert management for assigned cities

- Manage city-specific data pipelines using internal platforms and basic programming skills

Responsibilities – Country Expert

- Create country-specific guideline documents for operations teams

- Provide local expertise for mapping policies and regional regulations

- Support mapping operations with knowledge of traffic laws, landmarks, and political mapping formats

- Review and troubleshoot mapping and operational issues

- Act as a point of contact for country-specific mapping questions

- Perform quality audits and identify operational errors

- Review imported mapping data before system integration

- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure correct political and regional formats are applied

Requirements

- 1–3 years of relevant experience

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

- Good communication skills in English and local language

- Tech-savvy with basic programming knowledge (Python, Java, C#, or C++)

- Familiarity with GIS or mapping tools

- Strong knowledge of local transit systems, traffic laws, and landmarks

- Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent attention to detail
