Apply on original site ↗I’m looking for a reliable and skilled video editor to join my faceless YouTube history/documentary channel for a long-term collaboration.
The channel focuses on fascinating historical stories about royal families, fallen empires, lost fortunes, dynasties, wealth, power, and what happened to powerful families after their empires disappeared.
Videos are generally 15–20 minutes long.
I am looking for someone who can take a script and turn it into an engaging, professional historical documentary.
This is NOT a basic stock-footage editing job.
The visuals need to closely match the narration and make the viewer feel immersed in the story.
Editing Style
The main visual foundation should be authentic historical and archival material, including:
* Historical photographs
* Archival footage
* Paintings and illustrations
* Historical maps
* Newspapers
* Documents and letters
* Palaces, estates and historical locations
* Portraits of the people being discussed
* Other relevant historical material
AI-generated visuals can be used only when necessary and as a supplement, not as the main visual source.
The overall style should feel like a cinematic historical documentary with strong storytelling and viewer retention.
I want clean, professional editing — not excessive effects.
Your Responsibilities
For each video, you should be able to handle the complete editing process, including:
* Finding and sourcing relevant historical/archival visuals
* Closely matching visuals to the script and narration
* Editing the complete 15–20 minute video
* Creating good pacing and visual variety
* Adding subtle zooms, pans and movement where appropriate
* Adding clean, professional static subtitles
* Adding background music and appropriate SFX
* Properly balancing voice-over, music and SFX
* Using professional transitions without over-editing
* Using copyright-safe/licensed visual and audio assets
* Providing source/license information when requested
* AI voice-over when required
* Delivering the final video in 1080p
* Completing 1–2 reasonable revision rounds
Experience with ElevenLabs or similar AI voice-over tools is a plus.
What I DON’T Want
Please do not apply if your editing mainly consists of:
* Random stock footage
* Unrelated visuals that don’t match the narration
* AI-generated images throughout the entire video
* Repetitive visuals
* Watermarked or low-quality footage
* Excessive transitions or effects
* Meme-style editing
* Karaoke/word-by-word animated subtitles
The viewer should feel like they are watching a real historical documentary, not a collection of random stock clips.
Budget
My current starting budget is:
$15–$20 USD fixed price per completed 15–20 minute video.
This should include the complete editing package described above.
I am looking for a long-term collaboration with regular work.
If the channel grows and the collaboration works well, there may be opportunities for more videos and increased rates over time.
What I’m Looking For
You should:
* Have experience editing YouTube videos
* Preferably have experience with history, documentary or faceless channels
* Have strong visual storytelling skills
* Understand YouTube viewer retention
* Be good at researching and sourcing historical material
* Have good English comprehension
* Be able to accurately follow a script
* Deliver consistent quality
* Meet agreed deadlines
* Communicate clearly and reliably
* Inform me early if there are delays or problems
* Be interested in working together long-term
Selection Process
Shortlisted applicants may be asked to complete a short 60–90 second test edit based on a provided script, voice-over and reference style.
The purpose of the test is to evaluate:
* Visual sourcing
* Visual-to-narration matching
* Pacing
* Historical accuracy/relevance of visuals
* Subtitles
* Music and sound design
* Overall editing quality
Successful editors can move on to full-length projects and p
