Freelance Bookkeepers

Work from anywhere in South Africa We are building a network of qualified freelance Bookkeepers to support our clients on a project or part-time basis. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting local and/or international clients with day-to-day bookkeeping requirements. This is ideal for professionals who are self-employed or operate their own bookkeeping business and are comfortable working with local clients as well as clients across the USA, UK, and Europe . Key Responsibilities: - Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, bank reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable - Maintain and update general ledger and financial records - Assist in preparing monthly financial reports - Support client accountants and finance managers with documentation and reporting - Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, UK GAAP as applicable) - Work with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or NetSuite - Communicate regularly with international clients and respond to queries promptly Requirements Requirements: - 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting support roles - Demonstrated ability to support clients in international markets (USA, UK, EU) - Solid understanding of international bookkeeping/accounting requirements - Proficiency in relevant accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, etc.) - Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage deadlines - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualifications preferred (e.g. ICB, AAT, NDip, BCom) - Own laptop and stable connection Originally posted on Himalayas
