Apply on original site โFacelove is a fast-growing DTC beauty brand in the US. We're direct-response first, the large majority of our revenue comes from paid acquisition, and every decision we make is measured against CAC, MER and contribution margin.
We're scaling quickly, and we're looking for a Head of Paid Media to own that growth: someone who has run serious spend before, knows what breaks at scale, and can build the system that gets us to the next level.
About the Role:
You'll own Facelove's finances: the close, the cash, the numbers everyone else makes decisions from.
This is a hands-on role, not a supervisory one. You'll do the reconciliations, build the models, and run the payment cycles yourself, while working alongside our external Dutch accountants on statutory filings. You'll report directly to the founder and COO.
The person who succeeds here is comfortable being the only finance person in the building. You'll set up the systems, then run them.
What you'll own
Full monthly close on a fixed calendar, with a close you can stand behind
Bank, payment processor and intercompany reconciliations
Chart of accounts, accrual policy, and the discipline to keep both clean as we scale
Documentation and audit trail good enough that a new person could pick it up
13-week rolling cash forecast, with paid media and inventory as the two variables that matter
Weekly cash position and runway, and early warning when something is drifting
Working capital: inventory purchase timing, supplier terms, processor payout cycles
Annual budget and quarterly reforecast, built with the founders and then held to
Unit economics and margin reporting
Contribution margin by channel, product and cohort, not just top-line P&L
The finance side of CAC, MER, AOV, LTV and payback, in partnership with paid media
Landed cost per unit and true gross margin, including freight, duties and 3PL fees
Calling out where we're losing money before it shows up in a quarterly number
Inventory accounting across manufacturing, freight and 3PL
COGS accuracy, standard cost maintenance, and variance analysis
Inventory reconciliation against 3PL reporting, including shrinkage and damages
Flagging stock and cash risk on reorders early enough to act on
Revenue recognition across Shopify and all payment methods
Processor reconciliation: fees, holds, reserves, payout timing
Refunds, chargebacks and disputes, tracked as a cost line with an owner
Subscription and repeat revenue reporting, if and as we build it
Monthly payment runs for a contractor-heavy team across multiple countries and currencies
Contractor documentation and compliance records, kept current rather than reconstructed
Accounts payable, vendor terms, and the discipline to pay correctly and on time
Working with HR on payroll verification, so hours, invoices and payments actually agree
Dutch statutory obligations for ODAQ B.V., managed with our external accountants
VAT filings and multi-currency treatment
US sales tax nexus and registrations as our footprint expands
Keeping us clean in every market we sell in, and telling us before a threshold becomes a problem
A monthly reporting pack a founder can read in ten minutes and trust
A weekly one-page view of cash, spend and margin
Ad hoc analysis that answers the question asked, with the assumptions visible
Skills Required:
5+ years in accounting or finance, with at least 2 in ecommerce, DTC or consumer products
You have owned a monthly close yourself, not contributed to someone else's
Inventory and COGS accounting experience, including landed cost
Multi-currency and multi-entity experience, comfortable with FX and intercompany
Strong modelling ability in Excel or Google Sheets. You build the model, you don't just maintain someone else's tab
Fluency with Shopify or a comparable ecommerce platform, payment processors, and a cloud accounting system (Xero, QuickBooks, Exact or similar)
You can explain a variance to a non-finance founder without jargon a
