Our rapidly growing startup seeks a talented and versatile Field Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of deploying our innovative ML solutions in high-stakes environments, working directly with national security customers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our systems. As a crucial link between our development team and end-users, you'll have the opportunity to significantly impact national security operations while pushing the boundaries of ML technology. Job Title: Field Engineer

- Reporting to: Engineering Operations Manager

- Location:Geographically flexible for home-office with frequent travel required

Primary Responsibilities:

- Be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the year.

- Understand customer needs and requirements, providing tailored integration solutions using the Frontline Perception System (FPS).

- Identify and define integration processes for integrating FPS with existing and emergent systems.

- Write Software Scripts to enable system integrations and workarounds.

- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer success teams to deliver robust integration solutions.

- Conduct on-site assessments and evaluations to understand customer infrastructure and recommend optimal integration strategies.

- Develop detailed integration plans, timelines, and documentation to guide the implementation process.

- Provide hands-on technical support and training to customers during the integration and deployment phases.

- Continuously gather feedback from customers to iterate and improve integration processes and FPS capabilities.

- Ensure successful field deployments by troubleshooting and resolving integration issues promptly.

On a Typical Day You Would:

- Provision and configure FPS deployments for each engagement you are assigned to.

- Meet with customers to gather and understand their specific integration needs and constraints.

- Design and document a tailored integration process for the customer’s existing or emergent systems.

- Write a js or python script to route data generated in FPS to a client system via api subscription.

- Deploy and configure FPS on-site, ensuring seamless integration with the customer’s infrastructure.

- Provide technical training and support to customer teams, ensuring they are confident in using FPS.

- Collaborate with internal teams to refine and improve FPS based on field experiences and customer feedback.

- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during integration and deployment.

Desired Experience and Attributes:

- High standard of ethics, grit, integrity, and moral character.

- 5+ years of work experience in system integration, preferably within defense or related industries.

- Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and their practical applications.

- Good understanding of networking concepts, LAN vs WAN, ssh, ip, DHCP etc.

- Proven experience in integrating complex software systems with existing infrastructure.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in high-pressure environments.

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- Willingness to travel frequently and work on-site with customers as needed.
