English Teacher for a Private Junior High and Senior High School from September.

We are currently accepting applications from native English speakers with teaching experience in Japanese schools for a teaching position in Tokyo (Bunkyo-ward), at a private junior and senior high school commencing in September 2026. = Responsibilities = The successful candidate will be responsible for: - Teaching a range of English classes. - Teaching essay writing skills, grading essays and providing feedback to students. - Solo and/or team teaching. - Creating innovative and engaging lesson plans. - Developing and grading examinations and other assessments. - Participation in school events. (Note: These events may occasionally fall on weekends/national holidays.) - Maintaining up-to-date records and submitting paperwork in a timely manner. - Other work-related duties. = Requirements = The successful applicant must: - Be a native-level English Speaker. - Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher. - Have an experience teaching English at junior and/or senior high schools in Japan. - Currently residing in the Greater Tokyo area. - Hold a valid work visa permitting employment in Japan. = Preferred Qualifications = The ideal candidate will also: - Be creative and flexible. - Be willing to try new ideas. - Have excellent knowledge of English spelling and grammar with strong proofreading skills. - Be an excellent team player. - Have a good understanding of the Japanese school system. - Hold a teaching certificate (TEFL, TESOL, CELTA etc.) - Be reliable and punctual. - Have experience teaching a language other than English. = Working Conditions = 1) Teaching load: Between 15 and 20 classes a week 2) Working days: 5 days per week (Monday to Friday), with occasional weekend work for school events if required. 3) Working hours (including breaks): From 8:40am to 3:05pm plus one after-school class on Monday. 4) Monthly Salary (Gross): 1) JPY 275,000〜300,000. The initial salary will be determined based on experience, skills, the number of classes assigned, and workload. 2) Transportation to the assigned school will be reimbursed. 5) Contract Duration: From September 1st, 2026 to March 31st, 2027.
