From our expert teaching and learning resources to our digital educational tools that make learning easier and more accessible for all, we provide solutions designed to maximise the impact of learning for every teacher, parent and student.
Aligned with our parent company, Hachette Livre, founded in 1826, we’re proud to deliver high-quality learning solutions on a global scale. We make it easier for everyone to unlock a new world of learning.
Hachette Learning is a division of Hachette, one of the largest publishing groups in the UK, with 10 publishing divisions and over 60 imprints. Everyone here is proud to be in the business of opening doors and minds.
What you'll be doing
As an Education Sales Consultant for Hachette learning, you'll be responsible for growing sales across Central and Eastern Scotland, helping schools access market-leading curriculum resources, assessment solutions, digital platforms and professional development services.
This is a field-based sales role where you'll spend your time building relationships, identifying opportunities and helping schools improve outcomes for teachers and learners.
You will:
- Manage and grow a sales territory across Primary and Secondary schools.
- Build relationships with Headteachers, Senior Leaders, Curriculum Leads, Subject Leaders and Local Authority stakeholders.
- Promote and sell curriculum, assessment, digital and professional development solutions.
- Deliver engaging presentations and demonstrations to education customers.
- Develop new business opportunities while nurturing long-term customer partnerships.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets, contributing to both territory and national business goals.
- Attend education conferences, events and exhibitions, representing Hachette Learning.
- Provide valuable market insight to help shape future products and commercial strategy.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine a passion for education with a rewarding sales career, making a real impact in schools while being directly responsible for your own success.
Who we are looking for
We're looking for a motivated, ambitious and relationship-driven individual who is excited by the challenge of sales and passionate about supporting education.
You may already be a successful field sales professional looking for your next challenge, or you could come from an education background and be ready to use your expertise in a commercial role. Most importantly, you'll be motivated by achieving targets, building relationships and making a positive difference in schools.
You'll bring:
- A genuine interest in education and improving outcomes for teachers and learners.
- A passion for sales and a strong desire to achieve and exceed targets.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Strong organisational and territory management skills.
- Confidence using digital tools and presenting solutions both in person and virtually.
We'd especially love to hear from:
- Field sales professionals looking to move into the education sector.
- Education sales, publishing or EdTech professionals seeking their next challenge.
- Teachers, school leaders, curriculum specialists or education professionals who want to have a broader impact through a commercially focused role.
- Individuals who are self-motivated, resilient and excited by a target-driven environment where performance is recognised and rewarded.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market-leading education business and play a key role in supporting schools through a period of significant curriculum and assessment change.
