Summary Description
This position reports to the CEO.
We are a fast-growing SaaS company building technology that powers safer, smarter evidence management for public safety teams. Our platform supports frontline professionals — including evidence technicians, investigators, and administrators — in managing highly sensitive digital and physical evidence with integrity, security, and ease.
As Director of Product, you will lead the entire product side of the business, owning product strategy, discovery, and delivery outcomes end to end. You will also provide senior leadership and direction over Engineering and QA ensuring strong execution, quality, and alignment with product priorities.
As the first product leader in the company, this role is both strategic and hands-on. You will set the product vision and operating model while acting as the primary product practitioner until the product team scales.
What You’ll Do
Product Leadership & Strategy
- Own and articulate the product vision, strategy, and multi-phase roadmap aligned with company goals, customer needs, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the full product lifecycle from discovery and validation through delivery, launch, and iteration.
- Establish a user- and data-informed product operating model, moving the organization from ad-hoc decisions to structured prioritization.
- Serve as the company’s primary voice of the customer, grounding decisions in real user needs and feedback.
Product Execution (Hands-On)
- Act as the primary product manager initially, including:
- Running product discovery and customer interviews
- Defining problems, outcomes, and success metrics
- Writing clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Managing the product backlog and prioritization
- Analyze product usage, feedback, and KPIs to inform roadmap decisions and measure impact.
- Establish and maintain lightweight product processes, tools, and documentation.
Engineering & QA Leadership
- Directly manage Engineering and QA teams.
- Ensure strong alignment between product priorities and engineering execution, balancing speed, quality, and sustainability.
- Provide leadership on:
- Delivery planning and sequencing
- Quality standards and release readiness
- Capacity and dependency planning
- Act as the single point of accountability for product outcomes across Product, Engineering, and QA.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the bridge between Product, Engineering, QA, and customer-facing teams (Sales, Customer Success, Support).
- Partner with Marketing and Sales on product launches, positioning, and go-to-market readiness.
- Communicate product direction, trade-offs, and progress clearly to executives and stakeholders.
Team & Function Building
- Lay the foundation for a scalable product organization, including future roles, processes, and career paths.
