DevOps Engineer

Job brief

The ideal candidate will guide DevOps teams on speed of delivery, improving quality/security of code, and optimizing processes.
Job Level: Full-Time/Remote
Location: Barbados
Key Responsibilities

- Mentors and coaches the technical team.

- Constantly looking for better ways of solving technical problems and
designing the solution, not afraid of challenging the status quo.

- Provides the team a roadmap for implementing software engineering practices for higher code quality Identifies bottlenecks in coding development and deployment processes.

- Leads planning delivery time, code quality, and process efficiency improvement projects.

- Executes on plan by building coding standardizations and automating processes for the organization.

- Leads knowledge growth effort of platform configuration management and troubleshooting Leads DevOps team in delivering
consistent and holistic solution to the organization

- Collaborates with the rest of DevOps team to deliver consistent and holistic solution to the organization.

- Excellent coding and scripting skills (Bash, Per) and experience with
implementing high scale cloud architectures using modern, cloud-based container platforms (PaaS/SaaS) .

Requirements

- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and cluster management tools like Kubernetes.

- Experience with containers such as Docker, OpenShift and continuous integration and related tools such as Jenkins, Hudson, Maven, Ant, Git, Sonar, etc.

- Experience in Agile Development, with specific Solution Architect (or
similar) experience preferred.

- Experience as a DevOps or SRE Lead on a cross functional agile team.

- Excited about trying new solutions outside standard approved.

- Embraces a culture of trust, free thought complete transparency.

- Brave and rebellious, willing to challenge status quo.
