Job Title: DaVinci Resolve Video Editor — One-Off Project: 30–60 Sec Event Recap Reel Type: One-Time Project / Gig (potential to lead into ongoing work) Timeline: ~5–7 days from footage handoff to final delivery About Us We are a full-service media company handling podcast production, video, and marketing for clients across events, e-commerce, and brand work. We have a self-contained editing project available now, with the possibility of more regular work if it's a good fit. The Project We filmed a horse racing event and need a 30–60 second highlight/recap reel built from that footage — think fast-paced, high-energy, cinematic recap, not a straight cut of raw clips. What You'll Be Doing - Review provided footage and select the best 30–60 seconds of moments - Build a curated recap edit with a clear energy arc (not just chronological) - Integrate b-roll from the broader event footage - Color grading to match a polished, cinematic look (if possible or we can handle on our end) - Audio mixing and basic sound design (you will need to provide stems if available) - Add licensed stock music (we can provide options, or source your own if properly licensed) - Apply motion titles and lower thirds (we'll share a simple template) - Deliver an approved cut ready for final relink and master export (final export handled on our end) - Incorporate up to 2 rounds of revisions How Delivery Works We use a proxy-based workflow: you'll edit from lightweight proxy files delivered via Dropbox, synced through a shared DaVinci Resolve Cloud project. Once your cut is approved, we relink to full-resolution master files and handle the final platform export ourselves — you won't need access to full-res source media. Must Have - Strong working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve - A portfolio that includes at least one short recap/highlight reel — not just talking-head or long-form edits - Comfortable making creative selects from raw footage, not just executing an exact shot list - Comfortable working with proxy media and cloud-synced Resolve projects (Blackmagic Cloud) — willing to set up a free Blackmagic Cloud ID if you don't have one - Reliable internet for downloading proxy footage and keeping the cloud project synced - Good English communication for feedback rounds Nice to Have - Experience with sports or event highlight reels specifically - Motion graphics/title design beyond basic templates - Experience with licensed music libraries (Epidemic Sound, TrackClub, Artlist, etc.) - Prior experience with Blackmagic Cloud collaboration/Project Libraries How to Apply 1.
