Location:  Albania, remote Industry:  Mission-Critical Facilities, Data Centers Engagement Type: Independent Contractor Agreement for Provision of Services (long-term) Ehvert Mission Critical, a business unit within Salas O’Brien , is seeking an experienced Information and Communications Technology Engineer for a long-term independent contractor basis . This is an ongoing contractual engagement with a US-based company and is not limited to a single project . The role involves continuous collaboration across multiple mission-critical projects, based on business needs. You will provide services as an independent, self-employed professional under a formal independent contractor agreement . Role Summary: As a Controls Design Engineer, you will support the design and documentation of control systems for mission-critical projects, including large-scale data centers. This role is focused on developing high-quality design deliverables in close coordination with controls engineers and multidisciplinary teams. There is a strong emphasis on Revit-based design, as well as supporting broader low-voltage systems, including fire alarm, where applicable. This position is well-suited for someone with a solid technical foundation who can contribute to production work and help scale project delivery. Key Responsibilities: •⁠ ⁠Develop and produce control system design drawings and documentation using Revit and AutoCAD. •⁠ ⁠Support the design of building automation and control systems for HVAC and related systems under the guidance of senior engineers. •⁠ ⁠Assist with layout, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel designs for control systems. •⁠ ⁠Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and other disciplines to ensure integrated and consistent design delivery. •⁠ ⁠Contribute to low-voltage system design efforts, including controls, fire alarm, and related systems as needed. •⁠ ⁠Update and maintain project documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project standards. •⁠ ⁠Support design reviews by incorporating feedback and making necessary revisions. •⁠ ⁠Assist with preparation of submittals, as-built drawings, and commissioning documentation. •⁠ ⁠Follow internal QA/QC processes and applicable industry standards and codes. Qualifications & Experience: •⁠ ⁠Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field is preferred (or equivalent practical experience). •⁠ ⁠3–6+ years of experience in controls design, building systems, or low-voltage systems. •⁠ ⁠Proficiency in Revit is strongly preferred; experience with AutoCAD required. •⁠ ⁠Basic understanding of BAS/BMS systems, DDC controls, and integration with HVAC systems. •⁠ ⁠Exposure to fire alarm and/or other low-voltage systems (security, communications) is a plus. •⁠ ⁠Detail-oriented with strong organizational and coordination skills. •⁠ ⁠Able to work effectively in a team environment and support multiple projects simultaneously. •⁠ ⁠Good communication skills and ability to follow technical direction.
