Content Creator - Music Education

Thank you for your interest in this role! This position supports an online curriculum platform for elementary music teachers. The business creates curriculum materials, lesson plans, teaching resources, and professional development for general music educators. This role focuses specifically on developing social media content from ideas, source material, and creative direction. You will work with me to turn educational ideas and raw materials into polished content that feels cohesive, thoughtful, and distinctly on-brand. The brand look is inspired by Rifle Paper Co., Anthropologie, and Montessori. The visual style is warm, sophisticated, educational, and thoughtfully designed. A willingness to learn the brand deeply and study existing content is essential. You will be expected to notice patterns across previous work and carry those patterns into new content. If you have strong creative judgment, excellent attention to detail, a sharp eye for visual design, and the ability to take an idea and figure out how to turn it into finished content, you'll thrive here! Work Vibe: This position requires a high level of creative thinking, attention to detail, and independent judgment. However, it is imperative to me that all team members enjoy their work. Expect a positive work environment with extremely high standards. You will have flexibility in creating your own schedule and completing work during the hours that fit your workflow. Projects will be assigned with clear deadlines, and I expect work to be completed accurately and early, or at the very latest, by the deadline. I am looking for someone who wants to become deeply familiar with the brand and take pride in making the work better over time. Salary increases will follow a consistent schedule and will be based on job performance. You’ll know ahead of time what I’m looking for at each increase, that way you can move toward your desired hourly rate. -------------------------------------------- RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Content Development - Develop content for social media (Instagram and YouTube), and teaching materials (Google Slides, worksheets, etc.) Take rough ideas, voice memos, written notes, transcripts, and other source material and develop them into polished Instagram content - Develop Instagram carousels by determining the structure, organization, copy, and visual presentation - Turn a creative direction into a finished piece without requiring every individual decision to be specified - Determine the most effective way to communicate an idea visually and in writing - Adapt content while preserving the original meaning and intent - Recognize opportunities to develop existing ideas into additional pieces of content 2. Short-Form Video Editing - Take raw video footage and develop it into polished Instagram Reels - Select and arrange footage appropriately - Edit unnecessary pauses, mistakes, and portions that do not contribute to the finished piece - Add accurate subtitles and simple text or graphic elements - Make thoughtful decisions about pacing, formatting, and visual presentation - Ensure finished videos are properly formatted and ready for publication - Maintain consistency with the editing style established across previous content 3. Brand Consistency and Visual Development - Study existing social media content and learn the visual and editorial patterns of the brand - Apply established typography, spacing, layouts, colors, imagery, and other visual conventions consistently - Maintain a cohesive visual identity across different types of social media content - Recognize when a piece of content feels inconsistent with the established brand and make appropriate adjustments - Develop new visual treatments that feel consistent with the existing brand rather than relying on generic social media templates - Use strong visual hierarchy, balance, alignment, and composition across all content 4.
