Bookkeeper with Australian Compliance experience for Australian Small Business Clients 2026

Profit Cloud Accounting is dedicated to helping clients with making more profit from their businesses. We are looking for someone who already has experience working in the Australian accounting and tax industry. We need your help with preparing their accounting information accurately and timely so that we can advise them on how to be more profitable. We are looking for: - a career focused, - formal accounting trained bookkeeper/accountant - someone who is enthusiastic about looking after multiple clients and is capable of processing client transactions using different software. - experience with managing compliance for Australian clients such as BAS, TPAR, IAS, etc. The role is a contractor role in which you can be flexible with your work hours and we are looking ideally for someone who can provide 6-8 a day with at least some of those hours during Australian work hours You role will require: - Processing receipts (electronic format) - Preparing raw data for upload to accounting software - Allocating bank transactions - Reconciling Balance sheet accounts - Preparing reports - Uploading documents to the tax return software - preparing compliance for a registered agent to review - Other jobs as required All work is performed in the cloud using Australian accounting software and excel. We also use Google Drive system and a job management While you will have a list of clients to manage, no 2 clients are the same and you will need to provide a customised service for each client. This will make your role very interesting as you will need to be alert to the client's needs, while also applying correct accounting principles. You will be working as part of a team to provide bookkeeping and accounting services so there is plenty of support for you. You will be communicating with clients using email and so your written English language must be professional and proficient. Training for You Our whole team participates in continuing professional education, so please expect that you will need to have ongoing training as part of your work. We also want you to grow in your accounting contract business and continue developing your expertise to sell us more of your specialised services. What we need for you to have: - Excellent written English - Experience with BAS/TAX lodgement programs - Formal Accounting Training - Bookkeeping experience - Xero Experience Preferred - Quickbooks Online Experience Preferred - MYOB Experience Preferred - Excel Proficient for Accounting - Australian Experience Desirable - Reliable internet and computer equipment Other Notes: - We work on Brisbane Australia Time starting 9am weekday - We pay weekly in PHP so you do not have to worry about currency fluctuations - We are looking for part time hours that will increase to fulltime - There will be a 3month probationary period after which time the payrate will increase and fulltime will be considered We looking forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your application
