SMHQ JOB DESCRIPTION: BOOK PUBLISHING ASSISTANT =================================== ABOUT SMHQ =================================== SMHQ runs two connected UK property websites. SMHQ Network ( ---------- ) is a licence and franchise business aimed at property investors who want to find motivated sellers, with 58 people currently in the franchise network. ---------- is our main lead generation website, where we find motivated sellers directly, generating over 4,000 motivated seller leads in the last year. =================================== ROLE SUMMARY =================================== We're looking for a book publishing assistant to help finish and launch a property book, "How To Do Quick And Creative Property Deals." The book is around 90 percent written. We need help proofreading and finishing it, coordinating images with our designer and AI tools, and researching and managing the full self-publishing process, including getting it onto Amazon, obtaining an ISBN, and handling everything else involved in bringing a self-published book to market. As with all our roles, we're looking for someone with a good attitude and a genuine growth mindset, who wants to learn and grow. We want people who will stay with us long term and become loyal, trusted team members. =================================== MUST-HAVE SKILLS =================================== - Strong proofreading and editing skills - Research skills, able to work out self-publishing requirements independently and lay out clear steps - Experience with or ability to quickly learn Amazon self-publishing (KDP) and ISBN registration - Organized project management, able to coordinate multiple moving pieces (text, images, formatting, publishing) to a finish line =================================== NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS =================================== - Previous experience helping self-publish a book - Book formatting or layout experience - Comfortable briefing designers or using AI tools like ChatGPT for image or content support - Marketing or launch experience for a book or similar product =================================== HOURS AND PAY =================================== 20 to 40 hours per week. Pay negotiable based on experience. =================================== PROCESS =================================== 1.
